I am Amanda. My journey started on September of 2013. I decided to look into weight loss surgery because the regular routine wasnt doing anything for me, when i say regular routine i mean exercising , and trying different diets. I would lose the weight only just to gain most of it back so i went the weight loss surgery way. I wasnt happy most of the time, because i felt like my life was slowly fading away. I have two kids, so I was more so afraid of dying at a young age, and hated!!!!! to go to my kids school because of my appearance. I didnt realize how much i had let myself slip away until i went in to meet with the hospital and surgeon i wanted to try. They weighed me and the scale read 323... On down the road, I was going in for my visits and began to gain more and more weight... i then hit 345... that was the deal breaker for me. i had to get very serious and prove to them that this was something that i wanted.... better yet, this was something i needed! SO BAM the months rolled through, and I remember on December 31st of 2014, I got my approval call.... Man was i excited!!!! I cried, I danced.... i was ecstatic. I went in did my final testing... got weighed in i was 334. I had to do the 2 week liquid diet, and of course i had to go in again to get weighed..... my surgery was set for 1/30/14, but when i went in to get weighed i had gained 4 lbs... what a total let down, i was actually trying to cheat my liquid diet, and got caught (lol) sooooo they told me they had to reschedule. I was HURT! i bought this on myself :( but i said to myself.. AMANDA get serious.... So i went and stocked up on slim fast, and broth, sugar free applesauce and sugar free pops.. I did that for two weeks.... i felt the weight coming off, and it felt amazing... I got a new date! which was on 2/12/15. I got my call the night before surgery o what time to come in, and was told.... I would be weighed..  Thats when my nerves went haywild. I knew if i gained they would not do it, but deep down inside.. i felt like i lost at least 10 lbs. I was scheduled to be at the hospital by 6 am... Me and my mom and my daughter went. I was SUPER nervous. I did my paper work, and got prepped. The nurse told me to come back so they could weigh me..... the scale read 315!!!!!! i had lost 20lbs ... To make a long story short, only because im tired of typing lol... I went through with the Gastric Bypass. I feel amazing now.. I am no longer a size 28.. i am a 16-18, and a XL shirt. I can interact with my kids sooooo much better, and no weight gain since I had my surgery! I now weigh 223 .... my goal weight is 180... i have 40 more lbs and im there :)
