I lost 200 in 18 months
Congratulations on losing the weight. I am amazed that even when I reach a plateau and not lose wait for a long while. It is still better then before. I used to think that a plateau was a reason to splurge and then gain the weight back. Now I know that as long as I am not gaining life is good. If I do gain 5 lbs it a whole lot better then before where I would gain 20 to 30 lbs in a matter of weeks.

Taking the Middle Road, Thanks to the Band
My weakness is eating late at night. A habit I got into while working full time and finishing my BS and later my MBA. My weight just ballooned and the pattern for late night eating was established. What help me is to do my exercising early in the morning. So by 8:30 and 9:30 I am ready for bed. If I do not exercise then I will stay up later and I will eat even though I do not eat anywhere near the amount I used to.

Countdown to Onederland!
It took a long time for me to get to onderland. I would get to 203 and then do something to sabotage my program. I have been under 200 for about a month now so I guess it is safe to call it official. I am at onderland something I having done in 25 years.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
It is really difficult to stay away from those mini Candy bars. Though I will say that I do eat them in tiny little bites so they will last longer. We have my son and wife and their 3 kids living with us at the moment so we have allot of carb based mills because of costs. But at least they are not out on the streets.

Emptying Band For Travel?
I went overseas to the Philippines and though they quite did not understand why I could not eat as much as my son was eating, I just spread the food around the plate put my fork down and chew my food many times and left a little on my plate. I enjoy many different kinds of food and every way to make rice that you could think of. All in all had a great time and lost 3 lbs in three weeks do to the extra walking. Just be careful of your choices.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
I find that I chew more if I actually put my fork down, Otherwise without concentrating on chewing I will tend to try to put more into my mouth.

I need some help
I agree with plain. The one day at a time is a very important concept. I too have gone through extended period where I did not lose weight. I have grown to live with the fact that this is an extended process. Even when I am not losing weight there is a NSV that pops up and keeps me going. My most recent NSV is getting into size 36 pants for the first time in 25 years.

You know you are a bandster when....
I remember going to the movies and finishing up that giant tub of buttered popcorn. Then after the movie I would have to resist the urge to go and finish the popcorn that was left behind by all the skinny folks. :tt2::cursing:

Banding tomorrow on 62nd Birthday
Good luck on your journey. Like many others I wished I would of had the surgery allot sooner. Yet at the same time I had to wait until I was actually ready to commit to change in Life Style. While the journey has been far from easy it is a path worth traveling.

NEW favorite body part
My arms you can actually see the veins now and my new found neck. I went from a size 19 neck to a 15 1/2 with probably another inch to go.

Coffee
I used to drink alot of coffee and used it primary as part of my 64 ounces so I have cut back. Not long ago I started using cream or half and half in my coffee so since I no longer drink just black I have curtailed my coffee to no more than a cup in the morning.

Welcome to ME!
Congratulations and welcome as you began this journey. I was fortunate and both my wife and I had surgery on 9/12/07. While the journey has not been easy it has been very beneficial for my health. I no longer have to take metformin for diabetes, and I no longer have to use a Cpap machine for snoring. I no longer take pain medication for my back and knees. I to want to outlive my parents.
