Help! 200 miles from home and no food

Any restaurant should have grilled fish or chicken And some sort of soft steamed vegetables. Three ounce serving of fish is about the size of the palm of your hand. Ask for to go box as soon as your food gets to table and pack up the rest of it to take back to hotel. Hopefully they will have your frig fixed by then. Or find the closest grocery store. Deli turkey or roast beef rolled up with cheese and spinach, dip in one of the fancy mustards.

Ricotta Bake with lean ground turkey added to the marinara sauce. First time to make it, so quick and easy. And Yummy! I separated it into 4 oz ramekins before I baked it so I have individual servings. My husband tasted mine, and asked when I was going to make a regular sized one for the family. I had worried about having to cook two different meals, but I think my family might just end up eating the same as I do except bigger portions.

    I screwed up but

My doc puts all of her patients on it daily for at least the first six months, no matter which procedure you have.

    Having my nails dine,,

Yes, I actually asked specifically about color on toes at my pre-op when they told me no polish. LOL my toes have not been bare in years, and didn't want to start now. Was sooo happy when they told me toes were ok. They give you those hospital sock things anyway when they give you your gown and stuff.

    2 years of weight requirements

Ohhhh, sorry, I missed that part about not seeing the PCP. If you were on weight watchers or any other program like that where you weighed in, they might let you use those records. That's what I used for part of mine. Or if your ortho doc weighed you during that time, I would request copies of those weights.

    Does anyone have snacks

Being only 10 days post op, I'm still on liquids. I am so tired of sweet stuff already. I'm more of a salty spicy person. Been doing some research, and found a few savory protein items. I've already ordered them, and let my kids be the testers. I ordered Tanka Bites, and Journey Bars. The Tanka bites made with buffalo come in several flavors. My oldest daughter loved the buffalo, with cranberry, orange and apple. It's kind of like beef jerky, but they use ground buffalo so it was softer than beef jerky. The journey bars come in five flavors, sea salt, rosemary, curry coconut, pizza marinara, and sesame ginger. My youngest daughter, who is vegetarian loves these, and has asked me to send boxes to her at college.

You should be able to get copies of your records from both of your PCP's. Simply go by their office and ask for a medical records release form. If the office has electronic medical records, then you can ask if they can simply print out a vital signs report for that time period that includes your weights and BMI. You can either have the records sent directly to your insurance, or released to you. There may be a fee if they are released to you, but they will usually release them to the insurance at no cost. Your insurance may have a release that they get you to sign so that they can request the records themselves.

    Having my nails dine,,

I was told no acrylic nails. They hide the true color of the nail bed. I settled for an awesome pedicure and just had the nail tech do a manicure without polish. LOL and several of the nurses complimented me on my choice of color for my pedicure..

You will get there. My surgery was 6/10. I lost 10 lbs on the liver shrink diet prior to surgery, and have lost 7.5 since surgery. And I must admit, it feels really good to be on the losers bench! Can't wait to welcome you to the bench. A quick note about the chicken soup flavor. Since you can only heat it to 140, I've found it tastes a little off by the time you get to the bottom of the 8 ounces as it starts to cool. I've had better luck using it to enhance the chicken flavor in other foods. 1/2 c Cream of chicken soup with 1/2 scoop is really good, as is 1/2 c low sodium V8 with 1/2 scoop. Luckily my Doc told me I could have anything that I could purée to baby food consistency coming home from the hospital. I had worried about being on the full liquids for the two weeks post op. I kept wondering how I was going to make it for 2 weeks, but it's gone by relatively fast. I think knowing that if I wanted to have something else off the "mushy" list that I can purée has helped get me through. It's a head thing at this point, because I literally have to set an alarm to remind myself to eat because I am not hungry.

My Doc and Nut suggested Unjury brand protein. It has 20 grams of protein per scoop. It's all I used during my liver shrink and now during my 2 week postop liquid phase. It mixes smoothly with no clumping and no nasty aftertaste. They have vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, unflavored. Also for the times you just can't stomach sweet anymore, they have a chicken soup flavor. I find I am using more of the unflavored though. I mix it with low fat milk and use the sugar free flavored syrups for more variety. I add the chicken soup flavor to my cream of chicken soup to get a little more intense chicken flavor.
