I was referred to BariatricPal by one of the WLS groups on MyFitnessPal. I have been trying to lose weight essentially my entire life. I had my first consult with Dr. Gerald Cahill on July 9, 2014, and I decided to have gastric bypass surgery. I have to go through a 6 month program with the medical weight loss doctor and nutritionist prior to my insurance approving my procedure. If all goes well, I am looking at getting on the surgical waiting list in January 2015, and hopefully having my surgery in February or March 2015.

About me personally...I'm married to a wonderfully supportive man. We have been together since 2007. We do not have human children. I have 2 cats, Leo and Ella, both beautiful orange tabbies, I am hoping to potentially have human kids after my weight loss. I live in NW Indiana, and I work in health care. I crochet and read for hobbies, and I love documentaries. I also love Hello Kitty, the color pink, and RuPaul's Drag Race.

I'm looking for friends to talk with in all stages of this journey, and I am looking forward to getting to know many people.
