Don't worry we all go through that stall. And about eating the solids just be gentle on starting them. Because your mind goes nuts as in oh this is good . Lol . You eat right and stay on your program you will lose. I am 8 weeks out and I still have energy issues . But I am still losing weight. Keep up the good work . Remember stalls are normal even if your doing everything right. This will pass

Adding to the chorus: STAY OFF THE scale.
During the first 6 mths most of us see the doctor often enough that we will be able to monitor our weight. Focus on the program. Make sure you are getting in 60+gms of Protein and 64+ounce of Water every single day. If you are hitting those benchmarks aim for higher. Not only will it help with the weight loss, it will also help with the energy level. If you need to measure something take your measurements (boobs, neck, waist & hips). Lastly learn to savor NSV (non-scale victories). Things like jeans getting loose, seatbealts not as tight, feet no longer swollen, etc.... Take joy in how your body is changing and you won't get discouraged.

What Surfer Girl said, I had to stop stepping on the scale everyday. I was making myself depressed, it was terrible. Just tell yourself the stall WILL end, keep doing what you're doing and realize it's a marathon, not a Sprint

How do you not get discouraged?
What works for me is to stay off the scale and focus on what I am supposed to do: get in my Protein and Water, and exercise.

I am dealing with the emotions as well. I am a day ahead of you, and am on soft food right now. Right now my hubby is eating pizza and I am having chicken. The naps are becoming less and less, but I think my Vitamins have a hand in that. Once we get to exercise, it should boost our energy as well. It is getting easier for sure!I am down 50lbs today with my pre op and post op combined. Total of 26lbs post op. Really, it is going to get easier, and we need to make the forever changes now.
    Keep up the good work!

I have started reading a book called "Shades of Hope" by Teenie Mcarthy about food addiction. It has been amazing to read and work through while in recovery.

My date is June 9th. I'm trying not to panic but praying instead. Finishing up things at school for sub and anxious to get the journey started. Preop tomorrow! I've been working on this over a year so it's time.

I'm 8 days out and I've just begun to really move. I've done the Walmart and grocery store thing which is great. I'm keeping track of my steps. When you need to stop you stop and rest. Little things add up. I was told everyone goes at their own rate. I walked down the street and back for the first time today. Hydrate constantly! That is what is helping me.

You are sweet! Yes, I have friends dropping off meals every day this week, so all I had to do was put things on paper plates and heat them up, no actual cooking. The most cooking I've done is to make some creamed Soup on the stove with campbells condensed soup. My husband is working, but my teen has helped some, with say getting the laundry out of the washer for me since I can't reach in, and putting the basket on the bed so I can fold it. And he drove me to Walmart, so that was a help as I am not strong enough to try driving yet.
I think you are right, I'm getting plenty of movement for now, I will stop worrying about it. I'm wearing my fitbit and just checked, I have nearly 3k steps today, and it isn't 2pm yet. Time for a nap!

"official" or not you are getting a lot of exercise from your daily routine
going shopping, making beds, cooking meals
that sounds like a lot for someone who is tired, weak
    try and take it slower
i can only imagine it must be hard for you to deal with the kids daily needs
    can someone help you???
    family/friend/me???
    hubby or significant other??
THEY need to pick up the slack!!
during the day, or night ,hubby or other might be working
hope you can find someone to come over and give you a break so you can rest
even if its only a few days
i'm available on tuesdays and thursdays when the kids are home
i can help with the cleaning
(you don't want to taste my cooking)
ask your doc about when you can go back to the gym
don't hold your breath, gym might be a bit in the future
    don't rush it
you'll hear good advice, experience from others
but at the end of the day.......
ONLY listen to your doc/NUT (me too of course )
    TRY and get some rest
    sweet dreams
    who deserves them more
    good luck to you
    kathy

When to start? When your doctor clears you and feel up to it. I wasn't doing any more than leisurely strolls for several weeks after surgery. Don't try to look at what everyone else on the internet is doing and copy them -- do what your medical team advises and what feels right for you.

My date is June 9th as well. I didn't have to do the liquid preop but have really been careful and lost a few more pounds. I see the doctor tomorrow so I may be doing liquids this weekend. Sunday and Monday are all Clear Liquids anyway along with the prep. I hope I can do this! I'd love to hear from anyone that has the date. We'll do it but one day at a time.

I have jumped through all the hoops but the sleep study is holding me back. I am ready but the doctors have not given me a date. I only have a window of time this summer to give myself the full month and the surgery date is not set yet. So I may have to wait a whole year to have it. I am scared that I won't be successful if I wait. Sometimes I feel that the doctors support having the surgery but they don't take individuals into account.
