Time1989 got a reaction from HumanMerelyBeing in THIS is how the first 4 weeks go...
I am 23 days and still lack energy. The Vitamins make me nauseated. Got some B complex with B12 nasal spray. That's all the vitamins I am getting
Went back to work after 4 days, too soon, but can't afford not to work
I can drink Water and tea without problems
No weight lost in a week...ugh. Not exercising yet. Really need to work in that but Houston is hot as hell this time of year
Would live more updates from you as you're a week ahead of me
Energy needed too !
Thanks for the encouragement !!

Time1989 got a reaction from BeagleLover in Wil I have normal life after sleeve?
Well I am 23 days post sleeve. No it's not the same. You get a pang to let you know, not one more bite. For me, I miss a lot of foods. Especially bread
You have to remind yourself to eat. And that can be hard. ESP for me as I like to drink all day. Having to stop drinking 30 mins before food is hard. And then once eating is done, waiting another 30 mins seems like forever
Do I regret it, no. The outcome is greater then the food problems. I never once vomited after surgery, a lot do....I am eating everything now and learning quickly what works and what doesn't
My advice, find someone you know (I have two) that have had surgery. They are my "gastric sidekicks" and are just a call or text away
This site is great, however having a honest talk and lectures work best for me
Maybe one day, bread and I will get along
It's easy to get dehydrated so drink drink drink!!!
Hope this helps!

Time1989 reacted to debradebra in Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)
Hi I'm a nurse in the Twin Cities, starting my 35 the year. My surgery is coming up on Thursday, I am excited to be doing this but at the same time I am apprehensive about the first couple of weeks as I live alone with no close support. I feel like I am well-prepared for a normal post-op course but worry if some complication should arise. Am determined to weather any storm though and looking forward to reaching my goal weight and maintaining a healthy life balance.

Well, that's great -- your closest loved ones are in your corner. Congratulations!
Here are some options for you to consider. (Perhaps others can come up with other answers that are even better.)
1. I don't know. I haven't weighed in the last month.
2. My weight is between me and my doctor. Nobody else.
3. I've told my doctor about all the questions I'm getting, and my doctor says I shouldn't discuss my weight with anyone but him. I'm following her/his instructions.
4. I'm not comfortable discussing this with you. So please don't bring it up again.
5. Right now I'm focusing on my new behaviors, not the scale.
6. F**k off. (Well, you can't say that. Unless you can say that. )
Very best wishes to you, @Bigmommatojacob. (((hugs)))

Time1989 reacted to cherrytree15 in Any May 20th surgeries out there?
Hello all. I haven't been here in a while. I hope that everyone is doing well. I am progressing nicely. 21 lbs down and now the scale hasn't moved in a week. I can pretty much eat everything I've tried. No bread, Pasta, or carbs. I eat everything else. I couldn't do shrimp. My sleeve didn't like that much just sat in my chest. After about 4 or 5 bites. I'm full. I get about two ounces of food in. 3 meals a day, 2 Snacks. Averaging 550 - 700 calories daily and 60 - 75 grams of Protein. So far so good.

Time1989 reacted to Lilypad16 in Any May 20th surgeries out there?
I had scrambled egg whites this morning with a tiny bit of salsa. Yum! It's the 2nd try on eggs and this went much better than the first time. Things are changing. I last 35 lbs prior to May 19th sleeve and have lost 18 lbs in less than a month. You're right to Celebrate how your cloths fit and how much energy you might have now. Get out and move. I planted 5 large plants in my yard. Let me just say, that was a full body workout. I lost 3 lbs in one day. I'm never going to garden again lol. What I've noticed recently is I now have elbow bones and knee bones. It's been a long time since I've seen them. Welcome back old friends.

Time1989 reacted to Gr8fulMiniMe in Lap ban survivor here, considering sleeve have many questions
I can completely relate. I had the lapband from 2009-2013. So uncomfortable, can't eat beef, white meat chicken, biscuits, rolls, etc. So many things would send me flying to the bathroom to vomit. To the point there were rumors I was bulimic. I had it removed last year and gained between 30-40lbs. I am now 4 days post op. I am still in pain and on meds but I have so much hope and feel this is exactly the tool for me!. Wish u much luck and success whatever u choose! =)!

Time1989 reacted to lylabelle in Week 2: May 27-31st Sleevers
Can you believe we all have tini-tiny stomachs now? What a week its been. Some have had remarkable painfree success and some have been downright miserable. At this stage everyone is in totally different places as far as food/liquid/nutrition. For those on Clear liquids for awhile longer, if you didn't know, Isopure makes a clear drink thats 40g Protein. Its sold at some GNC stores. Might help get some protein in while being kind to your new stomach.
I hope by the end of this week everyone is feeling fantastic!
Here is the run down! I have an idea, let me know what you guys think... What I can start doing next week after we all lose the excess surgery Fluid... so everyone can see easily how much everyone has lost, is each week we can weigh in Mondays and I can put it after your name on the new Tuesday thread. It would be great to be able to see how everyone is doing at a glance - ie (lylabelle -6). It will be fun the first few weeks when we will probably all be dropping really well (except week 3 is typically a stall). You guys can message your number to me if you want so we keep our thread clean and filled with tips, tricks, recipes, annoyances and NSVs! Let me know what you think. Love this group!

Thank you so much for replying to my post. I have since went with very moist foods and my pureed foods and it's going down easier. I still get the pressure in my abdomen but it's not as bad, time will tell. Again, thank you so much.
