I have been waiting all summer to see if I could get the DS instead of the RNY. The surgeon told me that he thought it would be the best surgery for me (43 BMI with diabetes). But the insurance company had a policy of DS only for those with BMI over 50. Today I found out that the insurance company has updated their approval so I can get the DS!!!!!!! I am so happy and I am hoping for approval next week and hope to be able to get a scheduled surgery date! Just wanted to share my happy vibes -- hope others out there are able to benefit too!!
