Friendly Observation part 2 of 2

I completely agree. I'm constantly amazed at how some of the most educated people on this board can also act so childish and ugly. Put a bunch of moody females together, and their fangs come out. This is exactly why I don't have many female friends. Men definitely don't sit around and do this kind of stuff...
  2. I agree. I suppose most will now blame it on the OP's title. Someone did something similiar, but posted it in the Rants and Rave section. Most people blamed their snarky replies on the fact that the poster placed it in that section, so all was fair game. This is NOT that section. This is the complications section. Cut him/her some slack and quit being so damn ugly.

Should I be a witch, or no?

Yeah, I would just let it go. You don't want to end up on Judge Judy, and she is definately not worth all of the angry energy:). Believe me, it will just eat at you and drag some more drama into your life.

Why are people afraid of atheism?

I read this story this morning and thought about this thread. A couple of pages back, you all were discussing what would qualify as a miracle. Would this one qualify? The doctors say they can't explain it. FOXNews.com - Woman Wakes After Heart Stopped, Rigor Mortis Set In - Health News | Current Health News | Medical News
  5. I'm so sorry you're feeling so down. Have you gone in to see Dr. Carter, yet? If you have no luck with him, I would recommend Dr. Jayeesilan (?) from Medical City. I went to him when I was having issues and he did a full work-up on me. He also has a great bedside manner. I know it is far from Arlington, but he is well worth it. Something you might want to look into is that your body might be rejecting the band. You should do a search on the complications section for this. I've read of it happening to a small percentage of people. I hope that this is not the case for you, but it is worth looking into. One last thing is, steer clear of Care Now. They are great for little things like colds and ear infections, but for things like this, you need a full work up to figure out what is causing the pain. Please keep us updated on how you are feeling.

Come out of the band failure closet!

Wow, Wasa, I really got motivated reading what you typed towards the end. I mean REALLY! I know all of that stuff, but there is something about the way you wrote it. I think I'm gonna try that week and see how it goes. Thanks!

Come out of the band failure closet!

I think we need a section for psychological issues with the band. I also interpret the complications section as a section for those with "mechanical" complications. I guess maybe this could have been posted in the lounge? Maybe then it would be more likely to be viewed by people having the same issues. Alot of members steer clear of this section when coming to this forum for support.

Come out of the band failure closet!

WCFG, I think you are just trying to offer some tough love. I think it's great that things are working out for you. They did for me the first year, as well. But what we are talking about is that there are restriction level issues that can really screw with our minds and weightloss goals. I was floating on a pink cloud the first year I was banded. Three years later, I am living a different reality. When I read posts from people saying "40lbs lost, gone forever!!", I think to myself, "that's not true", I'm a great example of that. You can regain what you lose if the fills you are getting are too much, or not enough.
  9. Yeah, I've heard of so many hospital nightmares from band related problems. I've already decided that I would be driving all the way to Medical City, if I ever need any help for my band. My doctor is on call there. I can't believe they were laughing at you. I definately would not let that go. I'm so sorry you had to be there alone. Someone should have been there to make sure you were cared for properly.
  10. OMG, that's horrible. I see your doctor is from Arlington. Which hospital were you at? I want to make sure I NEVER end up there. The closest hospital from me is Arlington Medical Center. I know the head of admissions there, but I definately want to steer clear of where ever you were at. What a nightmare! I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Please keep us posted.

Come out of the band failure closet!

Brandy, Thanks so much for starting this thread. I feel your pain. I just had to get an unfill because I was living off of crap for 5 months, and haven't lost a pound. I have been banded for 3 years. I was very successful at first. I got down to 133lbs, and am now back up to 165lbs. It's as if something in my head just turned off after that first year. I can't believe I have gained back the weight, even after WLS. It really is a head thing. I can really relate with what you and BJean have been talking about. And I really do believe that this is an issue that so many of us are privately dealing with. I'm so glad to see that I am not alone in dealing with this.

    163lbs

Wow, I was reading my last blog and I guess life isn't too bad. I am still 163lbs. If I could just lose 10lbs, I can start fitting into all my jeans again. The problem is, I've been smoking weed again. Talk about having multiple addictions. I'm addicted to anything that makes me feel good, without having to do any work at it. The thing is, I can't even motivate myself to lose 10lbs. Can you believe that? I feel like I have nothing in me. Since my last post, I got a fill. I think I might be too tight. I am totally not taking advantage of the situation, though. I am eating nothing but crap. The only thing I feel good about, is that I haven't gained any additional weight since the last post. I feel like this is a self-fulfilling proficy. I am totally sabbatoging myself. Well, lets see how today goes...

    Dallas: Beware Of Dr. Maese

I'm a little confused. In your first post, you said that you have been going with him for 6 months. In your second post, you said 5 years. Which one is it? And is it really necessary to start insulting people because they have not had the same experience as you? Post#1 Great job!!!! has anyone heard of dr. maese in dallas texas??? He is wonderful!!! He is fast and painless on fills and I have lost so much!!! I was with a different doctor but I decided to change because after one year i had only lost 15 lbs but in the last 6 months since i changed to maese i have lost 45 lbs!!!!If any one is in dallas area you are a fool not to use him!!!! Post#2 have been seeing Dr. Maese for over 5 years now for ALL my fills and have never had one single problem with ANYTHING!!! If there was an infection It is not proven that it was only his fault!! I have a handful of friends that went to mexico and all came back with infections that were not detected until after the were back in the states. Two of them have also lost their bands and they saw other doctors!!! NOt maese!!!but I guess we can blame him also!!! Why not!!! Dr. Maese helped me lose almost 100 lbs and in my eyes is a saint!!! I just hope he isnt taking the wrap for an infection that was out of his control. You know most doctors wont even take mexico pts right now in dallas area because of all the infection coming from there. One bad apple shouldnt spoil it all!! maese has always been the best in the area and is just kind enough to take mexico pts!!! Be careful who you blame for what cause in the end he is still one of the best and when these other doc's move on to the next big CRAZE he will still be the best!!!!Sorry just a little upset at small minds!!!:cursing:
  17. I completely agree. I don't smoke anymore, because it interferes with my weightloss. If I could, I would. A couple of years ago, someone started a thread like this and was chased away by several posters who felt the need to pass judgement on their decision to smoke. This is a support board. By passing judgement on the OP choice, they did not lend support, but rather put them down for their choice. I say, if you can do this and remain functional and still lose weight, than more power to you. Alcohol and prescription drugs are just as bad, if they are abused...
  18. Who are you to pass judgement on what other people do on their downtime? She never said she was smoking pot while she was taking care of children. It seems to me that YOU are the one acting all high and mighty. It is possible to keep your professional life and personal life SEPARATE.

    Dallas: Beware Of Dr. Maese

I agree with its my time. It took me over a month to get an appointment with Dr. Jay, but it was worth it, believe me. Do a search on Dr. Maese. You will find a lot of negative feedback about him on this forum from several different people. He might give you the fill you need, but once you're out the door, he could care less about your well being.

    watch oprah now

Yeah, she came across very judgemental. I wonder if maybe she might be resentful of the fact that she has been fighting with her own weight issues and for some reason, WLS isn't an option for her. I know she can afford it, but maybe there are other things which have kept her from exploring this option. I was very turned off by her show today.

    Dallas: Beware Of Dr. Maese

He charges $250.00. It's $50.00 more than Dr. Maese, but he is well worth it. Plus, he gives you a two week window to come back, just incase your fill is not tight enough. Dr. Maese only gives you one week.

    Dallas: Beware Of Dr. Maese

I also used him, but only because I felt I had no choice. Now that I found Dr. Jay, I would NEVER go back to Dr. Maese. He has no concern for the well being of his fill patients. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Jayaseelan doing fills on weekends?

Hi Randy, Thanks for responding to my post. It didn't go too well. They think I might have eroded. I have an Endo scheduled for Tuesday. He really wanted to do it on Monday, but he had other things scheduled for that day. I'm filled up to 10cc and still no restriction. The liquid went right through. I've regained 30lbs in less than a year. We'll see how that goes... As for Dr. Jay, he was wonderful. I loved him and his staff. They were all great. They took really good care of me. I wish I had found him sooner.
  24. I'm supposed to have an appointment with him tomorrow morning. I tried to call and confirm, but they already closed the office for the day. I'd hate to drive such a long distance for nothing. Has anyone ever had a fill with him on a Saturday? I'm just a little suprised no one called me to confirm my appt...

Anyone used Dr. "Jay" Jayaseelan in Dallas?

I just scheduled a fill with him. I was going to Dr. Maese, but am changing for the same reasons as everyone else has with regard to his care. My questions are: 1. Is Dr. Jay agressive with his fills? 2. If he fills me too tight, will he do an unfill free of charge, or will I have to pay another $250.00? (Dr. Maese usually gives a week to return free of charge, if the fill is too much)
