  1. Best of luck to you!! Carol
  2. Hi! I had surgery on September 2nd. My total weight loss is 70 pounds. I am very pleased. I did lose 20 pounds before surgery. My weight loss is very slow now since I am about 30 pounds from goal. I am only losing about a pound a week and some weeks I don't lose anything at all. I don't know by your stats how you've done so far, but hang in there! My NUT and surgeon says that we need to allow a full year to get the best results. Best of luck! Carol
  3. I had RNY in September but my sister had it in 2006 and is still doing great! She lost 100+ pounds and went down to 119 but her and her doctor said that was too low. She has maintained around 135 (she's 5'4) since about a year after surgery. She is my role model! Best of luck, Carol
  4. Congratulations!!! You look wonderful!
  5. Hi there! I had my RNY on 9/2. HW: 242, CW: 173 Goal Weight: 145 5'3. I'm approaching the 70 pound mark and I couldn't be happier. I've had very few problems with the exception of some constipation (mineral oil has taken care of that) and I am noticing some hair loss but my hair is very short anyway, so no big deal. My weight loss is very slow now but my NUT and surgeon told me to expect that since I was getting close to goal. Your stats look great! Carol

  7. Thanks for the tip about the Cafe Steamers. I get so tired of cold food for lunch everyday. It will be nice to have something warm and quick.
  8. Mineral oil, 2 tablespoons before I go to bed every night. I've not had an issue with constitution in over a month. I was taking Colace everyday and just gave up on it. It has truly been a life saver. Best of luck! Carol
  9. Almost 4 months out and not one regret! Good luck! Carol
  10. Good luck everyone!!
  11. @@coastalchick that's exactly what my NUT explained to me when I talked to her about it not being whey isolate. She said since it was a peptide it was more absorbable. The most important thing for me was that I was not going to drink ANY Protein with that whey taste and smell (and they all do) because it made me sick, so I'd rather get some protein than none should the negative claims end up being true. So far though, the people I know that have been using it have had good blood work.
  12. I LOVE Genepro! It's the only Protein I've tried that is really flavorless. It's the only one I've used for the last two months and the same with my friend who just had her blood work done and all came back great! I will be having blood work the end of December myself and will be glad to post the results. It has no whey taste and you can mix it with hot liquids. It was also approved by my NUT and surgeon. You can also buy it from the website Musclegen Research. Best of luck, Carol
  13. I'm usually between 900 - 1100 calories per day.
  14. I'm 3 months out and have had NO negative experiences, except a little constipation (mineral oil has taken care of that). This is the best decision of my life. Best of luck to you! Carol
  15. One week out? It's probably gas, still but call your surgeon anyway.I had so much pain under my ribs and had to walk A LOT to get rid of the gas pain. Hope you feel better soon! Carol
  16. I took it by prescription for 3 months post op, and was told over the counter as needed afterwards. I haven't needed it so far.
  17. Mineral oil!! It has saved my life! Honestly. Two tablespoons every night just before you go to bed. It's not the most pleasant thing I have tasted, but it helps SO much! I gave up on Colace.
  18. I'm 3 months out and I was just told my my NUT to aim for 1000-1200 calories a day and up to 1 1/2 cups of food per meal. I usually eat around 1 cup per meal and about 1000 calories per day. I don't drink Protein shakes but I do add protein to my coffee every day, the rest of my protein I get from food. Carol
  19. I can tell you it was the best decision of my life! Best of luck to you! Keep us posted on how you are doing. Carol
  20. My NUT wants me to be between 1000- 1200 a day. Realistically, I eat between 900 -1000 daily. My weight loss is slower about 1 -2 pounds a week now, (3 months out) but I was warned it would be that way since my BMI was on the lower end to start with. I seem to lose better the closer I get to 1000 calories a day. Carol
  21. Yesterday was my 3rd month anniversary from RNY and I have never thrown up. I agree, you need to see your surgeon, soon. Best of luck, Carol
  22. Congrats on your success!! Those last 20 are always the toughest. Try doing something different to shake things up a bit. I different exercise routine or go back to how you ate the first couple of months. Best of luck! Carol
  23. People need to relax. It was funny and obviously meant to be so. Best of luck!
