  1. I read that this morning...I'm not sure I believe it.
  2. You look amazing! I bet it feels awesome :-) So happy for you!
  3. How's your right side doing? All okay?
  4. Got mine off Amazon...go to Amazon and search "lapband medical ID".
  5. Me too! I found a pretty one...it looks like a normal ladies bracelet. Kinda. Lol
  6. I am ordering one today...if you get in an accident, they might stick a breathing tube down your throat which is bigger than the band...as you can imagine, it would do you more harm than good. Its just a precaution you can take.
  7. Keep me posted...I still feel it, but it is nearly gone now.
  8. I just went through the same thing! I'm 3 weeks post op.... not sure what was causing it, but it seems to be going away. Lasted about 4 days. Was really achey right under the right rib cage and hurt to turn certain ways or take a deep breath. I was thinking it might be the port area as well..or maybe I tweaked a muscle. No idea... Just thankful it has gotten better.
  9. My right side felt great today...but I will still ask the surgeon about it. I'll have to try that trick to see if I can feel the port...kinda weird having something right under the skin, isn't it? The port and needle business almost made me reconsider this surgery... But, I'm glad I went through with it :-)
  10. It seems to be getting better by the day, so I'm thinking it's muscle related. If it gets worse again, I will call. I'm starting to wonder if that's where my port is? My left side is fine, no aches at all. Can you ladies touch and feel your port under the skin? I can't seem to feel where mine is. I thought I knew right after surgery, but apparently I have no clue. Lol! I remember the surgeon saying it would be right up around the bra line area...higher up than I've seen others. I think he does that to hide it better as the weight drops.

  12. So it's on the right hand side for you guys too? I can lay on either side now, and the pressure actually helps it. Bras are really not comfortable at all...and deep breaths hurt. I can relate to the driving...I struggle to get out of the seat after sitting straight up for so long. If I turn the wrong way during the day....yowza! Surgery must really tear the core muscles up...sheesh!
  13. Glad to hear it's probably not gallbladder...could be the port site healing. I was told if my left side is painful to call...they never said anything about the right. Just got a little worried when I googled it and found a bunch of gallstone symptoms, and how it happens after WLS. Last thing I want is another surgery right now! I should just stay away from google, lol!
  14. I just got banded on June 10th. A couple days ago I started getting really achey under my right rib cage... It kinda radiates to my back shoulder. It makes it hard to take a deep breath. Bras make it worse. I'm not sure if this is just normal aches and pains from surgery, or if it's a pulled muscle... Or gall bladder? I see my surgeon in a week. So will address it with him then, because it isn't straight up pain...more of an annoyance right now. It is pretty constant. Anyone have anything similar going on? How many of you had gall bladder issues after surgery? (I really hope it isn't that)
  15. Mine wasn't peaceful either...my own moaning from pain woke me up. I was pretty out of it, though...gotta love morphine!
  16. Bluesister, I have my first fill on the 9th too! Not sure if I need one, though. My surgeon put 5cc in my band during surgery...it seems to be working. Crystal, you poor thing!! I had one stuck episode on day 5 with Protein shake...it was so painful, it felt like a heart attack...I can't imagine going that long feeling that way :-(. I was almost swollen shut. I wouldn't feel bad about having Fluid out...let the surgeon do what's best. I really hope they sort it out and you feel better. *hugs*.
  17. You are in size 12 already?! Wowzers! Congrats! I'm still wearing the same size...just looser. I am looking forward to being cleared for all exercise...one more week! Walking in this heat gets old. I have equipment and classes I would rather use inside :-).
  18. Your calories sound low...if they are too low your metabolism will slow down thinking you are starving...it will hold on to fat, water, etc. I bet once you start getting more down, you will shed pounds :-). I didn't get a lot down at first either.
  19. I drink 1-2 cups every morning..it helps loosen the band a bit, yet takes away my appetite...so win-win!
  20. 1st week is the worst...It does get better...hang in there, relax, walk once an hour (its painful, but makes the pain go away faster), put the heating pad on..its hardest the first few days. I sucked on hard candy for the throat...took gas X, pain meds, walked, and applied heat to the stomach and sholder...I slept in the recliner for 1 week. Focusing on a good show took my mind off of the pain for a bit. You will make it :-)
  21. 23 pounds down, and feeling good so far! Aches every now and then, but nothing horrible. My rings are loose on my fingers..clothes are loose. About to start normal food in a couple days...I am actually bored of mushies, so I can't wait! I can eat about 1 cup- 1 1/2 cups of food at a sitting, and that is it. Averaging 900-1000 calories a day and satisfied (which is what my surgeon wanted). So far its going really well! The toughest part was the pre-diet and the week after surgery.
  22. I haven't told people either...saying:" I'm trying to stick to low carb diet" has worked for me.
  23. How exciting! Congrats! We have similar stats...gives me hope I can do it too :-)
