  1. The first two days I didn't get that much down...today I'm able to get a little more. I sometimes just get 4 oz down at a sitting. Surgeon said when you are satiated, stop...so I've been trying to figure out the satiated vs full. He told me not to get to "full"....these feelings are so different with the band in place. I get what I assume are hunger pains, but I don't feel hungry..so it's kinda strange. I definitely have restriction right now.
  2. Takes me 1 hour to get 8 oz...it's not very thick. I have 3 a day...and sip water.
  3. I've had the same thing...hard to take a deep breath at times...and the need to burp, but it's stuck. I've found it I tilt my head towards the ceiling, I get a couple to come out.
  4. I think most of mine is gone! I feel somewhat normal...not much of an appetite...I get the slight feeling of hunger about every 5 hours...the shakes take care of it :-). So glad you are doing better!
  5. You did it!! Welcome to the other side! :-). Sounds like you are doing great. The cotton mouth was pretty bad.
  6. Awesome sauce!! Lol. You will do great one you get into a routine!
  7. I know, right? It's okay for hubby to do it, but when I do it, I get a shocked look. Haha.
  8. So far so good...still a little gas pain...last night I got most of it out...lol.
  9. Gas-X and pain meds help get you through the rough patches.
  10. The second night, I was a gas release machine...lol. I feel a lot better now! I am still achey. But get this, my periods stopped for no reason six months ago. Now all of a sudden they are back! So a lot of my cramps and soreness is probably from that. Craziness! I am not sleeping well, since I can't lay on my stomach. I also had my first protein shake since surgery... But have no appetite. So I'm confused about the rule: "eat only when hungry". What if I'm never hungry? Need to get protein and nutrients somehow. Glad to hear you all are through surgery! Walk every hour...and that gas will eventually move out of your body. It really hurt...I still have a little left, but much better than yesterday. :-)
  11. B-52, it's a weird thing not to care about eating, even when I smell food. Pre-band I was literally salivating and so freaking hungry. Now...nothing. So how do you know when to eat if you have had no appetite for so long? I'll have to look into the protein shots... Who sells them? I should get biotin too.
  12. Yikes...I like my hair! I'm just not sure I can handle the thick shakes right now....maybe if I Water it down. Surgeon was big on getting Protein as soon as possible..hence the shakes starting days 2-10. I can eat mushies days 11-20.
  13. Had surgery on Tuesday (June 10th)...I am supposed to be on Protein shakes today...and for the next week. Problem is, I am not hungry! I have gone three days with no food...just Clear liquids...and was told only eat when hungry..stop when full. So, I'm not sure if I should drink a shake just to drink it....or wait until my hunger returns? I have bariatric chewable Vitamins I take. So I am getting some nutrition from that. I can swallow down clear liquids fine. Just no desire for food or Protein Shakes.. Anyone else like this after surgery?
  14. This is your time...own it! Enjoy this time for you. See if they have fun classes like Zumba...or kickboxing. Find something you enjoy and embrace it. Most gyms I have been in..there are people of all sizes. Be proud you are taking care of you...we are our own worst critics. Don't let negative thinking sabotage you! :-) You can do this!
  15. So third day out...feeling much better..sore, but I got a lot of gas out last night..heh
  16. I have no appetite either. Gas pains are starting to leave me...but my insides still ache. I can feel the port now... Which is weird and kinda alien to me. Walk as much as you can...it's the only way to get rid of the gas. I've been farting and burping all day! Haha.,,It's ridiculous.
  17. Stay positive! You will be fine...you have support here no matter what :-). Good luck!
  18. Yay! So happy to hear it! Feels good to be on the other side, finally, doesn't it?
  19. I wondered the same thing, cellibelli. Apparently you end up absorbing the gas. weird, I know. I'm feeling a little better now...sipping warm tea helps. I hope I'm past the worst part. I am still not hungry..at all. My stomach was growling for food on the way to surgery. Now, not a peep from it..lol.
  20. How long do the post-op gas pains typically last? They are pretty bad 2 days out. I have been walking for 15 minutes every hour...taking Gas-X and pain meds. I feel like I cant take a deep breath because of it. I know this is all normal, but am curious how long it lasts?
  21. I'm supposed to host a luncheon 10 days out. Nervous about it...the ladies coming think nothing of bringing high calorie, yummy food. I am secretive about my band as well...so any pointers would be great. I am only supposed to be liquids 10 days out...so I can't even eat mushies! Any advice?
  22. I'm curious about this too..doc primed my band in surgery yesterday with 5cc's! I have not felt hungry since.
  23. Good luck! Keep us posted! Excited for you! Like Betty said, you will do great :-)
  24. Haha, thanks for the laugh plopez! I feel the urge to burp, but nothing comes out...ugh. Wish they could just suck the gas out when they are done. I get muscle spasms in my tummy muscles as well...I'm hoping this is normal. They don't last long. I'm really not sure what hurts worse..muscle spasms, or gas? I'm thinking this all gets better a week out. So glad you are home, weevie!
