  1. wannabethin- i feel the SAME EXACT WAY! and quite frankly i dont care if im bitter! i am scheduled for my surgery on october 11 and im not telling anyone but my mom. I go through everyday (im a college) and just about everyday im asked if im pregnant?!?! i lost weight last year, but gained it all back and more, so im hoping this will be a life long helping hand in keeping my weight in a healthy range. But i know for a fact if i said anything to my friends, or even distant family i would be ridiculed. In fact im being ridiculed for gaining the weight right now by my own grandparents, get this... at my brothers NICE birthday dinner they asked me how much i weighed and how i could possibly be happy at that weight in front of my WHOLLLLLLLLLLLe extended family! WTF.... this is going to be tough for me to keep a secret because of my age and lifestyle, i know that and im ready for the challange.... anything to get healthy! good luck to you, and if you need anyone to vent to about your expirences with people that just plain and simple, dont understand, feel free to message me because i will assure you i can relate to pretty much anything!!!! power to ya~ Lauren
  2. Hey! Im schedule October 11th, a little nervous!!!!! i dont know why, but for some reason i have a HUGE fear that i wont loose, and i will gain?!!?! i dont know why but maybe its from reading some of the 'unsuccessful' surgeries posted. PLEASE PleASE! someone tell me this will work! I can live like this anymore!
  3. Liz, That was my whole reason for posting.... im young and i dont want guys to be freaked when they see me, well you know when... LOL, but seeing you Jachut makes me feel a whoooooole lot better... you look AMAZING!!!!!! and your right, i cant see it at all... what the hell i can bare with feeling it though!!! Im scheduled for the 11th of october, and now im just fearing, what if it doesnt work? will i be fat forever!?!?! Lauren
  4. Hey, Im scheduled to be banded on the 11th, im freaking out too! All the way leading up to this point i wasnt thinking about the pain or anything, but yest. it hit me! I havent seen anyone on this site as young as i am, so of course im beginning to second guess my decision! ( something i ALWAYS do). Im going through this whole process on my own(including payment... AH!) so it is kind of hard to keep telling myself im doing the right thing by getting surgery. I just keep coming on the site and seeing all of the great results. Well good luck to all you you guys!!
  5. Hey pam, sorry for the spelling error i meant detroit, michigan. Im not sure but it seems to be both a support group and a surgeons group. They offer all inclusive packages for people without insurance coverage. They perform surgery in Detroit or Mexico.
  6. Hey guys!! I havent got the surgery yet, but i know exacly what you are talking about. I spent almost a year of my life annorexic, i was NEAR DEATH at 85 pounds and standing 5'4!!!! The truth is i had NOOOOO clue what i looked like, even tho i looked in the mirror 100's of times in a day! The best way to see what you look like is from an outsider perspective. TAKE A PICTURE! put it in your purse and look at it when you are having some 'fat' moments. Of course i used it to tell myself that i was severly underweight and NEEDED to eat, but im sure when you all 'near or at goalers' will say DAMN i look good!!! remember what i looked like a year ago?!?! it will be a big ego booster for you. and eventually you will see that skinny person looking back at you in the mirror as well!!!! Good Luck- you all did a great job!!!! Lauren
  7. Hi all, i am looking to get my surgery through 'beliteweight' in detorit, they have a couple of doctors, i believe that their main surgeon is Dr.Webber however. Anyways i was wondering if anyone has gotten their surgery through this group ?? any input on your expierences would be great too!!! ANd i am open for suggestions for doctors in the northeast who are well reputed and inexpensive(i have no insurance!) thanks for all of your help! Lauren
  8. Hey, i am a couple weeks out from my surgery date and getting nervous. i have all of these thoughts in my mind!!! the big one now that i REALLY need someone to answer for me is.. what the heck does the port feel like after you loose your weight? im sure i wont feel it while im overweight, but when my body gets to a normal body fat percentage will it be clearly visible under my skin?? will i ever be able to wear a bikini to the beach without people staring? i realize that i will probably feel it forever inside of me, but i dont it want to be noticable to other people. Can someone tell me if it will be??? thanks a ton, :help: Lauren
