  1. I want to send a big hug and thank you to all who helped me through a rough stage. I have anxiety attacks and I was doing fine until I actually went to see the Doctor. Wow I knew I was ready for this but the anxiety got the best of me. I posted and found that it is normal to feel frightened. I just laid at home and cried without knowing why. I told my boss today and that was the last major step I needed to take. I was so surprised to hear her say "Wow I am so happy for you and I will support you 100%! :whoo:It was like a huge cloud just lifted and I am just as ready as I will ever be. Again I just can't say enough about this site and the people here. Thank you all...
  2. Hi Mom, I just posted another reply in a different thread...I too am a self pay and I had my appointment yesterday and am scheduled for nov 7. Now things are moving sooo fast my head is spinnng. I have the nutrition class on Monday and physc on Wednesday and wow I am second guessing myself so badly ... I really want this and I just need to get over the anxiety..My doctors office called and they are going to order all the testing labs so that my insurance will cover it...Rock On... I believe because I am 48 that I feel it must be a waste of our money...any encourging words or stories will help...
  3. Hi Stacy, My appointment we very well. I have a tentitive date of Nov 7. Now I am having anxeity attacks. I haven't been able to eat or drink and I am just second guessing myself. I want to do this but my insides are torn up!! Is this normal? :faint::help::think
  4. Hi Stacy, I have not been banded, YET! I have my first appointment with Dr. Srikanth Friday Oct. 5th. I was just wondering how your experience with the doctor and hospital were?
  5. Rock on Jrsyshoregirl!! That is great news for you and your sister...not so great for Mom...she will be a very busy lady.. I am glad you got your date set. Oh and what I meant about my boss was that she is a huge weight watchers fan..so I should not do anything other than weight watchers because it works for her. .. So that is why I do not want to tell her.
  6. Hi All, I have my appointment with the Doc this Friday. I am going to be a self pay so they have said that the date I wanted "Nov 7" would be a go!! Now I am so like all of you, hopeful, happy, scared, and ready to finally have the right tool to do this job... I, too, have only told my immediate family and I really don't want to tell any one at work, but I may end up telling my boss. She's a great person but I really just want this for me and I know that because she is a huge WW fan that she would tell me to try that again...Lord knows how many diets I have been on. My last attempt was the Alli and again..nothing. So I am ready for this... I am in Washington and will be banded by Dr. Srikanth. He and the hospital are certified excellent in weight loss surgery. I am 48 yrs old and I kept putting off the thought of surgery, because I am older...when I voiced this opinion on the site I received a ton of encouraging replys back...they all said go for it..no matter your age. Well enough about me..how are all of you feeling? Have you been reading all the different threads? Most are very helpful and some are scarey.. I wish you all the best..and hope to be hearing of each of your success as we take this journey..
  7. Yes, at the seminar the doctor said it was all in the technic of sewing the band. Good luck on your journey!!
  8. Thanks for your reply. I am only worried because I will be a self-pay and I don't have the money to do this over...I want it to be my one and only band. The doctor and hospital are both certified exelcent in WA and he told me that the band will out last me...
  9. Hi All, I too have just discovered this site and I am loving it. I have my first appointment on Friday! I am so excited and my husband is behind me 100% :kiss2: I have read a lot about slippage :omg: and it scares the heck out of me. Most of the slipped bands seemed to be from 2004-2005. I am hoping that they have come along since then. My doctor said that I'll be getting the new band that the fill ballon goes all the way around the band, any one else heard of this. I guess it is quite new.
  10. Well Hello All, I just figured out how to find my thread and see all of your Wonderful replies...I am so Stoked!! I really love this site and I have been reading a ton of threads and I am learning more every minute. I will be glad to keep up with you all and watch our tickers drop:whoo: Way to go SuzyGale!! One down and 4 to go...Heatlh is what this is all about...although looking 25 again would be great I do know that it just ain't happin here... Thank you all for your inspiring words...
  11. Hi All, I am going to be banded by Dr. Srikanth, who is now in with Dr. Oh. I am glad to hear good things about their office and St. Francis!!
  12. Hi Suecasb... Thanks so very much for the reply...I am so happy for you, too.. It has truly brightened my outlook for the future. I have also decided NOT to tell anyone but my husband and kids, for now anyway.. I was wondering if anyone else had told their boss that they were having a different surgery when they put in for the time off
  13. Hello All, My bestfriend had RNY 4 yrs ago. I told myself that no matter what I would never consider any surgery. I just kept telling myself that I would just exercise the pounds away. Well, I have tried everything. I have been overweight since my daughter was born...1979...I have lost weight on several diets but it always comes back plus more... I finally went to a Lap-Band seminar. I was so impressed. I have my first meeting with Dr. MS on Oct. 5. I am hoping to be banded by Nov. 7. I thought that in my research that I should check out the "Horror Stories" all that did was confuse me. I don't know if they were just unhappy people who thought that the "Band" was a fix and not a tool , but I have decided to go for it.:whoo: I am 48 and I keep thinking that I am too old for this. :faint:Then I thought that if I don't I will not be around to watch my twin Granddaughters grow up. Wish me luck!! Goldie1109
