  1. I had my surgery on July 16th and I am only down 31 pounds. I was also coming on here today to ask the same question. lol
  2. So tomorrow is the day that starts my new journey of being banded. I have mixed feelings. I know this is what I need to live a healthier life. My knees won't hurt anymore, I won't get tired going up stairs, and I will maybe finally be able to get pregnant. My journey thus far has been difficult. Changing bad habits to good habits is difficult. I don't have to tell anyone on this site that food is a weakness for me, but today I can say I am stronger than food and it will not have power over me. I have a great support system behind me and this site to get me thru the hard times, because I know there will be some in the near future after surgery. I have been back and forth to get this surgery and now the day has finally come. I am ready to live the life that I deserve and not be held back by my weight. I was always the chubby girl in class, the oh you would be so beautiful if you lost the weight, and the woman that sits in the corner in new places because I am self conscious of my weight. That ends today! I will no longer let my weight determine my feeling or actions. I am the only one that is in control of the food that I put in my mouth. I am the one that is in control of getting my butt off the couch and going to the gym. I guess this whole process to get banded has made me truly look at myself and determine what I want and need in life. I wish everyone luck in their journeys. I am thankful for this site because I know you all have experienced some of the same things that I have because we have let of weight control so many of our emotions.

    July 2014 :)

So even though I have my surgery date I am having some issues with my WBC count and I am hoping with me being on antibiotics that it will go down by Monday. My surgery is still scheduled for the 16th and I am still doing my pre op diet of high Protein and very low carb diet. I am praying that everything comes out ok I have worked and waited to long for this surgery for it to be pushed back. But I understand if I do have some type of infection going on it will not be safe for me to have surgery. I truly think its from me not taking all my antibiotics when I had an ear infection towards the middle of June. So cross your fingers and say a prayer that my test results come back ok on Monday so I can have surgery Wednesday. Being on this no carb diet has me craving bread and I know its just because I can't have it. But I have a bigger goal to achieve and that is to get fit and that bread and satisfying 30 seconds is not worth it.

    July 2014 :)

Congrats to all of us for making this decision to better our lives. I finally have a surgery date of July 16th. I start my high protein low card diet today until surgery. I am nervous and excited at the same time. But I have a great support system behind me and this forum is also very helpful.
  5. I am finally scheduled after going thru everything I need to complete to get the surgery starting back in October of last year. I am scheduled for the 16th of July. I have to do a 10 day no carb diet. Needless to say I am going to live it up a little this weekend for the 4th. I won't say that I am nervous for the surgery. I know this is going to be a HUGE change for me, but honestly I am ready for it.

    July 2014 :)

Will be getting my date today at my pre op appointment. Shooting for July 15th!! I'll update after my appointment today. Feeling excited
  7. I go for my pre op appointment today! I can't wait. Hopefully my July 15th date is open. I am so excited as well. I know I will have to get my blood drawn again because its been over 30 days since I had surgery clearance from my PCP.
  8. Are you guys keeping it a secret that you are getting the band? At first I was skepitcal about letting people know that I was having it done. But then I thought what does it matter. People around me would know something was up, true I could say that I have been watching what I eat and going to the gym. But I believe this is a decision I made for my health and so what what if I had surgery to get it. How do you guys feel about it?
  9. I go for my pre op appointment tomorrow. I can finally schedule my date. I hoping for the 15th of July. I will know tomorrow but they are going to have me do 10 of a high protein low carb diet. I can't wait to finally get my date!

    June LapBand

The Barium swallowing test isn't so bad. I had that done about t month ago. It doesn't taste all that great but you don't have to drink a lot. What was the worse to me is that they give you something like pop rocks and tell you not to burp when all you want to do it burp. I am patiently waiting for my office to finally submit the referral into the insurance for surgery. I finished my 6 months of classes back in April and I have finally completed all the pre-op testing that they have required from me. My birthday is at the end of June so maybe that will be my birthday gift to finally have my surgery. I am over this waiting

    Any June banders?

I am not scheduled yet but it should be the first or second week of June. I have finished all my pre op testing. I had my EKG done this morning. So now I just have to wait for my doctor to put the referral in for surgery. The MA at the office said this should take about 2-5 days. So after that has been approved I am finally able to schedule my pre-op appointment with my surgeon. I guess this is when I will find out when my surgery is and what my pre op diet will be.
