I'm about 20 days short of the 2 year mark. I don't have any complications other than that I can't really eat fats, milks, or oils without getting sick, so other than barfing a lot when I make bad food decisions, I've had no issues. I fluctuate about 3-4 pounds but I've been under goal for about 5 months and haven't had a super hard time maintaining.

I've had mine for over two years. The only complications I've had were self inflicted. I was eating to fast, to much, and not chewing enough. Don't do that you throw up a lot and have major stomach aches. I haven't gained any weight back. I'm actually still slowly losing weight.

The times I have experienced traditional dumping are almost always with food that has high sugar content like a milkshake or rich chocolate. My skin flushes, my heart rate increases, I feel a little woozy, and I get really hot.
When I eat foods that are high in fat such as oil or milk fats, I end up with projectile puking in 5-10 minutes. To my knowledge that isn't dumping, but it's been a lovely side effect of the sleeve.

I had a BMI of over 50 and I was told 60-80 g of Protein. My husband asked about maintenance weight and we were told 100g. That being said all NUT's are different and as long as you are doing Protein first then veggies and then and only then starches, you should be okay with 100.
Empty calorie foods can be a slippery slope. It's perfectly fine to split a cupcake as long as it doesn't lead to you craving more sugar as is often the case. The pretzels can cause the same thing.
The main point being that if you REALLY want something and it is going to really bother you to not have it, then have a few bites and move on. Just don't make them a habit so you don't sabotage yourself.
I don't think anyone means to be judgemental but you asked why you weren't losing and the things you mentioned jump out as red flags. We all want you to succeed.
Look online to bariatric surgeon groups and study what you should be eating since your surgeon was no help. You can also consult a nutritionist on your own for guidance.
    Good luck!

You're not doing nothing wrong, you will have stalls. I am 9 months out, i've had several stalls and wondered the same so I continued my Protein, workouts and healthy eatting, today I've lost a total of 68 lbs and 27 lbs away from my goal. Continue to work at it and you will see results, they may not be quick results like some, but you will, hang in there.

Unfortunately I did not have a NUT and the instructions post surgery were so inconsistent that many ppl started asking the doc. Instead of giving us correct information he just kept saying....do whatever you want...I'll resleeve you in 2 years.
So I have never asked questions since.

You're getting 1200 calories at 8 weeks out?? I'm 10 months out and am getting 1200 calories!? You should only be getting around 800 calories at 8 weeks out. You're eating too many calories. Also, lay off the carbs. If you want to lose, you need to only get your carbs from dairy, fruits and veggies right now. Stay away from the cupcakes and pretzels. snack on cheese sticks and nuts instead.
Keep your diet clean. meat and veggies with every meal and lots of Water. Track your calories on Myfitnesspal. You'll have plenty of time to increase your calories and incorporate carbs the closer you get to goal. Good luck! Don't get discouraged, just be proactive!

As I approach the 4 month anniversary of my revision, I must say I have NO REGRETS!!! I am so glad I went through the process. I had my band removed and sleeved in one surgery Sept 18, 2014. So far my eating is wonderful and I am loving my sleeve. No stuck foods, no spitting up and when I am full, I am just full. There is no reason to over eat with sleeve, you just have to maintain and eat healthy stay away from junk. Are there temptations...of course because I am a cocktail LOVER LOL! I do have my cocktails but like my foods, I have it in moderation and don't over do it. I feel my body transforming and I so love that feeling of seeing a better looking, none tired, more healthier ME!
To compare the band and the sleeve, there is no comparison. The band I had back in 2006 was not the band for me and I am VERY satisfied with my sleeve. If you are thinking about the sleeve, know that it is the best decision you will give to your health

Congratulations on 58 lbs. lost. That is an amazing accomplishment in such a short period of time. What I have learned is when the body does lose that amount of weight, we do go into the stall/plateau stage where it is adjusting itself to the recent changes that has taken place. Once it recovers, it will go back into weight-loss mode. In the meantime, just enjoy where you are. Continue to count your calories, change your exercise and foods that you eat as well. When your body is ready, it will start losing weight again. As you know I thought I was done losing weight but after 10 1/2 months of adjusting to the new weight or being stalled, I started losing again and I wasn't even trying. The only thing that changed was walking more. So just be patient and enjoy. Again, congratulations. You look awesome!!!!!!!!

Maybe kick-up the exercise by an extra hour or two a week. And maybe shift your eating a little bit. Try going back to a shake as a Meal Replacement once a day. Back to basics helps a lot of folks. Good luck to you! And congrats on the 58lbs!!!

Actually, adding some carbs will help to jump start your system. Have some whole wheat Pasta for 1 meal and see what happens. I ate a veggie spring roll last week and dropped 2 pounds.

"When are you going to stop losing weight?"
I don't know, when are you going to stop asking?
    "You're getting too skinny!"
If you're implying I have an eating disorder, I don't.
I'm SO happy with my progress, being healthy and smaller feels amazing, but I'm getting frustrated with the constant questions and comments about how I look now. I understand that I've never been skinny therefore its almost foreign to others how I look now, but sometimes I cant handle it. Why is it easier to make these comments now that I'm thinner but NO ONE ever asked me if I planned to lose a few pounds when I was morbidly obese. I can see now why a lot of thin people can have so many body image issues.
I'm happy slipping on my size 8 jeans. I'll take these over a cheeseburger from McDonalds ANY DAY!

I'm a revision patient. I had my surgery October of this year. It will be 3 months come January. I am 8 pounds away from being under 200lbs, I never thought I would get this far so soon. I now feel confident that I will get to my goal weight! One day, one step at a time.
