  1. Hello! I'm in Denver, had my surgery with Dr Brown...and am so far, it's been pretty successful. ))) email me if you want help, motivation, support...anything.
  2. I'm now a little over 5ccs and I'm down 40lbs from my surgery in December. I lost more than the 1-4 lbs this past month but I am still hungry when I only eat about a cup of food. I stop even though I'm hungry just to stick with my diet. I really stressed this and it didn't seem to help. I don't want to be forced to eat more just because they won't fill me but I might have to.
  3. I'm down only like 40 lbs since my surgery and haven't noticed any drastic change with my girls yet. (thankfully) I'm also 6'1" so my weight is really spread out. I think my boyfriend and I have been getting along a lot better. I feel more secure with myself and I think that makes him feel better about me...or I'm allowing him to show what he has always wanted to. Good luck with your surgery. Mine was a breeze...wish I would have done it sooner.
  4. Congrats!!! Good luck!
  5. I am very new to the insurance world. I just signed for insurance that starts today and reading up they need 5 years of history, correct? well, i went to a doctors from the time I was in middle school up until last year (I'm 23 now) when they said they have no records of me going there. I was upset and got into an argument with the lady who insisted she couldn't find anything on me and I would have to completely come in as a new patient and do a financial screening, which is required yearly. I didn't have time for that and I was too upset so I just went to a 24 hour clinic as a walk in. I'm not just worried since they couldn't find anything on me then to update my files, how am I supposed to get 5 years of history? Is it common for places to delete, or trash records? I sure hope not. I will cry. I'm kind of lost right now.
  6. One foot apart and a mile away. Nothing happens, it's only a memory. Done crying, there's nothing left. Empty promises. Empty words. Empty relationship. It still hurts.
  7. oh man, that's horrible. maybe he's just not into having a girlfriend of any size...and if you were some skinny chick he might have done the same? who knows...if not, eff him.
  8. I'm so dumb when it comes to insurance. Thank you for all of your help, really.
  9. Another question, should I start this Jan 1st or should I be calling now? I don't know if anyone would be willing to help yet.
  10. Okay that is what I will be doing! Thanks! At work, in our policy coverage, it does state it covers wls and some of the criteria is listed. I'm sure there is more to it than that though since that is just an overview. I wasn't sure if I should wait to reach out to an actual center that I will be getting my band until I know if I need the whole 6 mo diet or anything like that. So insurance and center, then if the medical diet is needed, the doctors...correct?!?
  11. Okay, I've never had insurance and now I have some starting in January. I'm not too certain how I start this process. Do I first get in contact with my insurance to make sure they even cover it, contact the bariatric center or a clinic first? I'm not sure what step to even take first.
  12. At this time I do not have insurance and I called to speak with someone with the Realize band and they told me to shop around for insurance and ask if they cover Bariatric. Well, the few companies that she did would tell me no. After telling them I saw online that they did they would say well how much do you weigh (which i don't really feel comfortable telling someone who just said they don't cover it). Finally, the only person that I could get an answer out of was a guy from Aetna and he said they do not cover it in an individual plan, only group. My work offers insurance once a year and I was not around for the enrollment date. I'm unsure of where to go or what to even do to start the process. I have no support from anyone, but I'm ready to move ahead. I need to do this now, for myself. Any help is appreciated.
