  1. I was sleeved a week and 2 days ago. When I stepped on the scale I was excited and shocked to see I have lost 18 lbs. I am having a little bit of trouble with protein (liquid in, liquid out). I was curious if others experienced the same type of weight loss in the week following surgery?

    Question about stomach "contractions"

Thank you! I agree it must be part of the healing because they have gone away.
  3. I had my sleeve done Wednesday was on clear liquids in the hospital now on just liquids. I keep having theses strange contraction like feelings. I don't think it's hunger. I don't have any feelings of hunger. I'm drinking my fluids and I just don't know what this could be. It's not really painful I just don't know if it's normal. Has anyone experienced any of this?

    Insurance Approved!

Thank you for the information. It all sounds helpful. Where did you find protein flavored shots??
  8. I had my final nutrition appointment on 12/19 and my insurance has already approved my surgery. I see the doctor in 1/12 to set a surgery date! This all just got very real to me. I couldn't be more excited but also very scared. I have read several things that said the first few weeks can be very hard.

    Just Starting 6 Month Program

I also am just starting my journey. I met with my surgeon last Thursday and meet with my nutritionist a week from tomorrow. I am very excited to get this process started. It kind of reminds me of when I was pregnant with my son. When you first get pregnant it's so exciting but the excitement slowly starts to fade away until your belly starts growing and you can feel them moving. Then of course it returns when your due date approaches. I am at the very excited stage where I can see the future will change me forever but ready for it to be here already. This could be the longest 6-8 months ever. Congratulations on your choice to change your future. Good luck with your journey.

    Pre-Surgery Diet

That's encouraging. Thank you for your reply.
  12. What is the insurance trying to find out with the pre-surgery diet? If I am on the borderline of my BMI being 40 does losing weight in the 6 diet disqualify me from surgery? Any information is appreciated.
