  1. Today I am remembering the words of Epistle of James: Are you hurting? Pray. Do you feel great? Sing. Are you sick? Call the church leaders together to pray and anoint you with oil in the name of the Master. Believing-prayer will heal you, and Jesus will put you on your feet. And if you’ve sinned, you’ll be forgiven—healed inside and out. (James 5:13-15 MSG)

  8. DISCLAIMER: I am not perfect. I am human. Social media is a great device for people to stay connected. If I ever have offended you in anyway because of something I did or did not do on Facebook, please let me know. I would do the same. With that being said, me and my man are going to be cuddling for a nap as my nausea and vomiting goes away. P. H. Energan is a great cuddler.

  9. You know the song....Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air... That is my life's theme song lately. Well, every time I eat I get severe chest pain from trapped air. My nutritionist, surgeon and family doctor say it's all related to me swallowing air when I eat or drink. I had hiatal hernia repair with my VSG. My decision was not an easy one to make. I was always the "Fat, Fluffy, Happy, Woman" but then I began having "female" pain. I have had several procedures but unable to have a hysterectomy because of my weight. So my GYN gave me a proposal....if I lose 100 pounds....hysterectomy. Then I got to thinking - I've always wanted to be able to: 1. buy clothes in Walmart 2. not be worried about fitting in theatre seats, airplane seats, etc... 3. wanted to find my soulmate So God opened this door of opportunity...and I jumped in. I googled local bariatric surgeons and did alot of research. Being a nurse, I try to be very thorough. So after three months of research, I chose Dr. Nick Nicholson of Dallas, Texas. He and his colleagues had me tested for hiatal hernia - which I had. So not only did I have a VSG, I also had a "paraesophageal hernia repair with or without mesh" My highest weight was 400 pounds August of 2010. My surgery was 03/04/2014 with weight of 345 pounds. Today, my weight is 312 pounds. I have not lost anything in 10 days. My new life consists of measuring everything, weighing everything, counting everything....food, Water and exercise. I feel absolutely great - with exception of 10 day stall. So I continue to sink the lyrics of Jordin Sparks in hopes of being able to eat & breath pain free.

    Trapped Air....

@@sgruenke you sound like you took a page out of my diary. I don't have the trapped air as much anymore and I do carry Gasx strips everywhere I go. When I do have the gas pain, I take two Simethicones and walk around. Usually happens when I eat dry food and/or drinking before, during or after meal. I also have called crying to my mother with the pain and she pats me on the back. (What ever would we do without our moms?) I too am a nurse and had surgery in March. My weight has stalled. I'm supposed to have at least 60 grams of Protein and 60 ounces of Water a day. I am doing good with getting 60+ grams of protein thanks to Atkins Protein shakes for Breakfast, 1/4c almonds sporadically for Snacks, and Jack Links Jerky for snacks too. I still have difficulty with 60 ounces of water a day. I think that the trapped air was related to drinking to close to eating. So I'm always eating so I can't hardly drink. Now I'm going to the gym at least 5 days a week. My workout consists of at least 30 minutes on treadmill and then at least 30 minutes of weights then end with either cool down on elliptical or stair-climber. I feel amazing afterwards but the scales aren't reflecting any weight loss......frustrated. So now I don't have trapped air as much but I don't have weight loss either. At times, I wonder if the surgery was even worth it?
  12. Up early on Saturday for a quick RoadTrip with my Gma and Aunt. We are gonna be doing some ancestry historical stuff.

Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)

Hello everyone. I've been a nurse for 10 years with DD. I in process of completing my masters in Nursing Informatics. I was sleeved March 4, 2014. I have lost 35 since surgery, 90 since highest weight in 2010. My main reason for moving forward with surgery is the pain I was suffering while on my feet all day. Now I don't have the pain, and I can run circles around my co-workers (even though I am twice their age and still twice their size)

    Trapped Air....

I think my problem is the drinking during meals. Most food is soooooo dry and bland now. So I always think: "How can a tiny sip do any harm?" Well I guess it does. Sigh
  19. I have tried everything.... .....eating tiny bites ......chewing until my jaw falls off ......eating with toddler fork & spoon .....not drinking out of straw The only time I don't have the problem is when I have all liquid diet. I can't be on that forever. I'm almost 3 months post op. Highest weight was 400 pounds 8/2010. Surgery weight was 345 pounds on 3/4/2014. Current weight is 310 pounds. I haven't lost anything in 10 days. Feeling very frustrated. I'm getting about 60grams of Protein and 600-900 calories. Now I'm back to having air bubble pain (singing Jordin Sparks) and taking Gasx like candy. Can anyone relate? How long will my stall last? Is a home electronic scale very accurate?
