My deciding factor for having VSG was my health slowly getting bad and my husband, he is partially handicapped and currently battling bladder cancer. I am his only source of care, I wanted to physically able to take care of him and my weight was beginning to cause a lot of knee and back problems. My husband has had and will have to continue to have surgery to keep tumors out of his bladder. I need to be there for him.
I am scheduled to return to work today after two weeks off from surgery. It's the beginning of my third week and I am starting my soft foods phase of post surgery. I woke up coughing and it left a bad taste in my mouth, the aftertaste of chicken flavored protein drink I'd had at lunchtime with about a tbs of pureed chicken tender mixed in. I ended up vomiting with a tad of blood in it but felt much better afterward. I got online to search if this was a major concern and found this website, read one forum close to my problem and decided to join! I plan on visiting website often and look forward to posting about my success!
