MSM pills are joint support pills, but if you google them they are also used for hair thinning and host of other great things for your body. You can get them from Walgreens or CVS. I order my biotin and msm pills from puritanpride.com with free shipping

another comment to stretching stomach. I have felt the same thing but I don't feel like I have stretched it. I thought about it here and there but I really don't think it. Not sure how we could tell regardless. your feeling this even 6 weeks longer than me though which in 6 more weeks heck I feel I could eat a meal LOL. it's odd but I can't see to find a food probably I cant eat it's more now that I don't want to eat at the moment. My taste buds have changed though somewhat. I do have issues getting my liquids in

Since the day after surgery i too have had no issues with eating. I take on 80-100g of Protein per day. I concentrate my cal intake on Proteins though. I am 5 months out and stay around 900cal and feel great but i can eat just about anything now. I dont think anything has stretched. I was told that the sleeve wont really ever stretch backnout to even close.to what we had. It will relax over time but never stretch like that. Just eat Protein with every meal and limit your fruits and what not. They can add up as well as nuts. They are good but only once in a while. Your weight loss sounds like it has been great. I too feel bad for all those who struggle with getting in their Proteins daily. We are the lucky ones. I havent had one problem physically since this all started. So good luck to you and wish u all the best for the future.

June 12th! I am so excited about starting a new chapter in my life. I began the pre-op diet today. They said they would like to see a 10lb loss before surgery. I'm going to give it my best shot!

My 14 year old son was receptive, but worried. He didn't give me attitude, but if he did, I would wonder why. Is she scared for you? Does she understand the procedure? Does she understand the long-term health risks if you don't have have the surgery.
I remember the horrified look on my son's face when we told him what I was doing. He was worried. Then, as probably most teenagers, he wondered how it would affect his life (questions like, "Is my diet going to change?").
You might not be able to change her mind about you "cheating", just ask for her love and understanding - just like everyone else in your life, they have to understand this is your decision and no one else's. You are the only one that has to live in your body.
    Best of luck to you!

I think there is nothing wrong with closing down the non-helpful parts if the conversation. You can tell your daughter you've heard her opinion that you are taking the easy way out and so on. But you are the adult and you've made your decision. Tell her you're open to talking if she needs it but you're no longer open to repeated criticisms.

Today I begin my 2 week liquid diet. And I'm kind of sad, because of obvious reasons, my love of food, and today being Memorial Day, yet another holiday which gives me an excuse to eat a lot of crap. But in the past month ,since I've known that I'm having thus surgery, I have pigged out on everything to the point that I put on 8 more pounds! So, today, I'm embracing my new lease on life, and I hope these two weeks go fast, and I hope I can get through with no cheats! Good luck all you pre op liquid dieters!!

Things I took that I needed and used:

    - Chap Stick, #1 by far
    - SF Ricola lozenges... sooooo dry with the oxygen
    - Gas X strips
    - Listerine strips
    - Book (barely used, hard to stay awake to read long), glasses
    - Cell phone
    - Deodorant and baby wipes to clean up some before going home next day

Things I took and did NOT need or use:

    - Robe and slippers
    - Makeup (pah--right, as if lol)
    - iPod (can't sleep with music anyway, so I'm gonna stare at the walls while I listen?)

Wear what you plan on wearing home, you'll only be in it a couple of hours anyway. Also, even though I turned on the TV for maybe an hour, I got a bill for it from some external company (not the hospital) -- only $5, but it's the principle of the thing. Had no idea I'd have to pay for the damn thing, so clarify that before you decide you want it on.

I lost friends and some family shunned me before surgery. After surgery some friends I lost because I was losing weight and they weren't. The family that shunned me initially wanted the surgery suddenly. Others after surgery tell me "i'm too thin now." I am still over weight not by much but I eat and drink like I am supposed to. I got my surgery for health reasons and longevity for my life and to not die prematurely as my mom did at 41 from being over weight and there is a long standing of heart issues in my family.
She doesn't sound like a friend at all to me, I'm sorry. .

At the risk of sounding a bit brash...f**k your "friend". She sounds as if she's dealing with her own "fat acceptance" issues. You don't need those kind of people in your life. She's selfish. She created a whole blog post about YOUR surgery and made it about HER feelings. She doesn't care about you. She was never a friend. Cut that dead weight loose now. You'll feel much lighter when you do.

I was told that I could use the Flintstones Vitamin twice a day. But after my surgery I found a website that you submit you insurance information to see if it is covered and they will send you your Multivitamin in the liquid form your supplements and cream for your scares after surgery. I will get the website and post it ok.

June 20th is going to be here before I know it ... it really helps just to think of so many of us going through this surgery at the same time. It is scary, but it is far more frightening for me to remain at this weight (and growing). I have been practicing with chewing my food more slowly, sipping Water, trying out various shakes .... a lot of what you all are doing. I did start the Vitamin regimen already. I am also watching You Tube videos. I am excited for me and for all of us.
