Hello :) i found this website just from google'ing different things i may have been questioning or curious about regarding my upcoming gastric sleeve surgery. I am 24 years old and will be having the sleeve completed in either july/august depending on my insurance and when I complete all of my clearances. I am in the process of completing them now and have just finished the medical weight management thru the bariatric dept at the hospital that I am having my surgery completed at.
I have struggled with my weight for my entire life and although i have lost weight in the past on my own i always end up gaining back (plus some) and never lose the amount that i need to. I feel that if i dont get a handle on this now i will end up gaining more and more and develop more health problems or exaserbate the ones i now have. I recently have been diagnosed with high blood pressure (mostly caused by my weight) i also have pcos. I also have sprained both my ankles 2 times each and have a torn acl which may or may not have been somewhat caused by excess weight but def made worse by it.
I am very scared to have this surgery but I am young and want to live a happier healthier life and i am so excited for the changes that are to come.
Many of my friends/family and my boyfriend do not support the surgery and feel that i am "not big enough" or can do it on my own but i feel like this is the tool that i need to make this a permanent lifestyle change.
Im looking to gain some positive insight on the surgery and see and hear about other people's success that can motivate me even more!
