  1. I LOVE my walking shoes. They are called HOKA. They are the best. I had pain walking before but not with these shoes.
  2. Oh no! I really looked forward to this group! Why won't we meet any more!? So sad.
  3. Hi Sherry I won't be able to attend on Saturday. I'm doing a 5K! See you next month! Susan
  4. @ Electick! How cool we are surgery day buddies! For those looking for protein powder I use Nectar. I love it. I also bought Isopure unflavored for mixing into broth and other things.
  5. I found a liquid that I really like. It was a t a vitamin store. I can't recall the name. But it tastes like orange.
  6. I heard about a swallow test after surgery. What does this test involve?
  7. Hi! I just found out today that I will be a November sleever as well. I was supposed to have surgery in July, but got sick. All is great now. Just heard back from the surgeon that my date is Nov. 26th. the day before Thanksgiving! I will be going through Kaiser, Fontana.
  8. Going to try to make it to the group this Saturday!
  9. I'm new here but I would go to the appointment because you can now voice your concerns with the surgeon, whose practice it is and he needs to know how his office staff treats patients and your frustration. Hopefully this will help him realize what's going on and you can get the answers you need.
  10. My favorite is Fuzzy Navel by Nectar. 23 gr of protein per scoop. I like to mix it with Greek yogurt.
  11. Thanks all. I'm starting to feel a little better. I started taking antiviral medication a couple if days ago. I think they are working. Today's the first day I've really eaten all week.
  12. I am so bummed. I can't believe I go through all the classes, the surgeon opens up his July calendar for me to book my surgery on July 7th so I can still go on my vacation and everything is going great, when all of a sudden while on vacation I get sick. They thought it was strep throat but I'm not better after a round of antibiotics. Throat is still hurting, glands are swollen and sore and new symptom is swollen gums with sores in my mouth! Went to my primary care doctor today. He says he thinks it's viral and most likely a really bad case of mono! You got to be kidding me! And to top it off he says I am way to sick to have my surgery on Monday. I won't get well enough soon enough. I don't know what to make of it all. If I had the surgery on Monday it would have worked out Perfectly for my schedule because I don't have to be back to work for 4 weeks. Ahhhh!
  13. Wow, it's coming up quickly.
  14. Jessica, it's ok to be all weepy and emotional. You will do great! Remember this is what you've been planning and working towards. I will be praying for you! Let us know how you are doing!
  15. Ok, I'm scared surgery will be moved because I have strep throat! Ahhh! I haven't been sick in months and months! Now this. Praying the antibiotic works and I heal quickly.
  16. Hi all, I am scheduled for surgery on July 7th. Would love support.
  17. I'm a July 7th date too! So nervous.
  18. I am so glad I posted on this topic. I thought that I was alone. So happy to hear from others and hear their story. My surgery is scheduled for July 7th because the Dr. Is working around my already planned vacation. I won't lie, I'm scared. I want to not have to worry about diabetes and metabolic syndrome. My A1c is usually 5.4 - 5.6. I've been doing very well with being diet and exercise controlled. I don't want to take medications or Insulin in the future. I want to not be weighed down by this weight. But it seems like such an overwhelming decision. So life changing. Thanks for being there and for posting your thoughts, feelings and experiences. It helps!
  19. I finally met with the surgeon today. I went in thinking sleeve. Came out scheduled for the roux n y. Kinda shocked. He said if I wanted to get rid of my Metabolic syndrome and diabeties that that was the way to go. Surgery is scheduled for July 7th after my 3 week road trip across country with my kids.
