    Any October Dates?:)

Monday is coming quick. Im a little scared, anxious and excited, more excited than the others. Its time to get the house in order. Cleaning the cupboards, Freezer and Fridge. Replacing everything with good healthy foods that I can make my hubby while I have my after surgery liquid diet. 5 more days.... whew

    Complications....so broken and sadden

My thoughts are with you sweetie. I hope everything gets better for you soon. I was told that this could happen. It sounds to me that you were listening to your own body and got help fairly quickly. Great job in knowing something was wrong. As for your fiance, he must love you very much. He is a great support system. I am sure the two of you will be just fine. Look toward the future, you may have done this to yourself, but you will be happy in the end. I want to hear how you are doing, so keep us posted
  7. My surgery is in two weeks on the 6th... No pre-op diet, as of yet. I see my doctor on Thursday. He may put me on a liquid diet, not sure yet. Anyway, I am willing to do what ever it takes to lose this weight and get back to being healthy. For me its not about looking good (a plus) but its more about feeling and being healthy. I am so tired of looking in the mirror and wondering where I went and who is this person looking back at me. I dont expect to see that vibrant 25 year old but I would like to at least recognize myself.

  8. Congrats! I cant wait for my journey to start ..... October 6th

    I Finally Made It!

Congratulations on your wonderful achievement. Great Job!!! Keep up the good work!!! I am just starting my journey. My surgery in on Oct 6th. I have my pre-op on Thursday the 25th. I am sure he will put me on a liquid diet to get my surgery a jump start. I am sooooo ready to get this other person off my back. I have been carrying her for too long. One of my mile stones is to reach 199 lbs. then to reach century mark of 100 lbs lost. I havent given her a name, but I just might name her so I can say "So long, Adios, Goodbye." I never want to see her again.

    Any October Dates?:)

Good luck to all of "US". It is nice knowing that I am not alone. I look forward to hearing from everyone, your progress and just to talk if needed. My surgery is in two weeks, I go for my pre-op appointment this Thursday. He will probably have me on a liguid diet from that point on, not sure. I am a bit nervous, but more excited than anything. I cant believe this long process is coming to a head.... whoop whoop

    Sourhern Cooking

After some research and the help of my doctor, I was told that after the first 7-8 weeks I should be able to eat anything within reason. Small amounts of what ever I want as long as I mantain 75-80 gms of protein a day.

    Any October Dates?:)

I'm scheduled for October 6th. I went through the munching stage, where I ate everything. My favorite saying was "I cant eat this after my surgery, soooooo why not?" I have now slowed down and I am preparing for my surgery. I amd so excited I am counting the days. I have a great support system in my family, friends and co-workers. My friends are giving me a going away party (weight is going away) before my surgery. I am not sure what that includes, but I am pretty sure alcohol and food are the topics. You know going out with one big bang. I am ok with that....

I am doing really well. Healed up very nicely. I'm on day 8 of a stall though so that is exhausting to check the scale and see no change, but my clothes feel a bit better, so that is a plus. I remember waiting for my appts and surgery, felt like it was taking forever and looking back it seems like time flew. You'll get here soon!!

Thank you for the encouraging words. Keep up the good work, if your clothes are getting nigger, thats cuz you are getting smaller.

  14. WOW you look great! More importantly, how do you feel? My surgery is scheduled Oct 6th. Cant wait...
  15. I got the call today to confirm my surgery date. I go in October 6th. Cant wait to start this journey. Let me give all those who are waiting for approval: I was on My Fitness Pal for 18 months. Thank goodness. My insurance wanted me to show that I have been trying for at least 6 months out of 18 months. Because I kept records of my progress, they accepted my documentation as proof.

I have a kind of funny question

No my dear you are not alone. I too have thoughts "What am I doing?" "If I can only eat 1/2 a cup at a time, I can do that myself" Then I realize if that were the case, I wouldnt be in the shape I am now. I have been dieting for 40 years. Worst of all the first 20 of that forty I wasnt over weight. So I know this is what I want, even if those thought senter my head. Im going for it.
  18. Honestly the preceedure was part of the list of things I had to get done before my application for the sleeve was sent to the insurance. I believe it is all standard tests just to make sure everything is alright. They make you walk (starting slow), then they gradually speed up and incline. I was accually shocked how well I did. I get winded just walking up 7-8 stairs. I did great. You can ask to stop the treadmill when ever you feel you have had enough. You can do this
  19. Yep, I had mine and im waiting for my insurance to approve. It wasnt that bad. Its over before you know it.
  20. I wanted to keep everything on the down low as well. However, I felt my family should know. It should have been your choice, but she was just concerned for you and thought prayer (lots of prayer) couldnt hurt. Bless her heart. I am sure she meant well. Dont be too upset with her. I wish I could be in your shoes. I can talk to my mom but I get much of a response. She is in the final stage of Alzheimers. So please dont be mad long. Give her a big hug and tell her you love her.

    Finally "Onederland!"

Good for you. You look great. I cant wait to reach that elusive 199 myself. Keep up the good work.
  22. This waiting is terrible. I thought once I got all my appointments and requirements done it would be so bad. I cant sit still waiting for a date.....

That is the hardest part, at least before that you are actively doing something! Be strong, it goes fast (so i'm told, but i'm still skeptical!)

You know you lost weight when

I would love to walk up to my front door (8 steps) without stopping or being out of breath. I would love to play softball and go bowling again. But mainly I would love to be healthy again. This is only temperary. I will walk up my front steps and I will play sports again. Its just the beginning.

How long from first consult to surgery?

I had my first appointment with my surgeon on Feb 22. I have completed all my requirements and I am now waiting for my insurance clearance. Then we can set a surgery date. I had to do several things... Cardiac Clearance, Stress Test, Psych Eval, X-Ray, Nutricianist and an Endoscopy. All are done except some blood work before surgery. I am just on pins and needles waiting.
