Dry mouth could be a sign of dehydration. Are you taking in at least 64oz of fluids?

Thank you all for your words of advice. In my past weight loss efforts I tried a diet called the "fast duet" which requires some fasting. I would fast 24 hours. Go to work/ teach full day then coach our football team for another 3 hours. I would still manage to throw in a workout during this fast day and all on Water. I felt relatively ok but this is only one day as opposed to 2 week liquids only. So I am going to heed the advice and take the full week off at least.
If their are more men out there with this procedure I would really like to hear about your experience also. I have found at least in my experience that a lot of men shun the idea of surgery as an option to aid in weight loss. I guess it's a "machismo" kind of thing. Especially in my circles since I am a coach and have friends that believe that weight loss is simply calories in calories out (over simplified) or believe that it is all about will power? In any case Ladies and Gents please let me hear from you and your experiences (socially) about the weight loss procedure. Thanks

Well I gave up on the group page. I could not figure it out. You could not access if from the phone app. It just wasn't working out for me or the other 27 people who were members. So I am starting this thread. I know there is already an April 2014 post op thread but it's a variety of people. While I totally support everyone having any kind of WLS, our experiences are not the same. Bariatric Pal has 3 sections for that very reason. I'm a perfect example. When I started on this board I used the Sleeve boards because I had every intention of having that procedure. When it changed, I jumped over here to the Bypass surgery forums. So I just wanted to make sure our April 2014 bypass folks had their own thread because we need to support each other and the issues that arise specific to the bypass. I hope that the sleeve and band folks find the same specific support in those forums. http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/384-post-operation-gastric-sleeve-surgery-questions-answers/ http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/152-post-operation-lap-band-surgery-questions-answers/

I'm 3.5 weeks out. I make sure that I introduce new things when I am not at work or going anywhere.
My week 2 I could have runny oatmeal and cream of wheat. Both were fine. I could have unsweetened apple sauces, mash potatoes, no sugar added yogurt (I ended up using Yoplait 100 greek vanilla) and cottage cheese (did not try). I was good with all of them and using the baby spoons really helped.
Week 3 I added scrambled egg, and canned tuna/salmon. I added a little light mayo and despite the fact that I don't like tuna, they were ok.
Week 4 I got to add soft Pasta and did mix the tuna with it which worked well. I also had a perogie since it's Pasta and mash potatoes. Flaky white fish is my big addition and I've tried it out several times. Not a big fish fan but trying to make it work. I can also have soft veggies, fruit, Beans etc this week. I'm also eating egg salad and boiled eggs now. And Hummus on a few crackers. My week 4, 5 & 6 are all the same.
