  1. I'm 3 years post op and trying to get back on track, diet wise. Recently I've noticed my lips tasting really bitter and metallic. Has anyone else experienced this or know what it could be?

I’ve regained ALL the weight back 😢♀️

Regain just plain sucks. I'm 3 years post-op and up 30. I've been trying to rein in the eating again but it's really hard. We got fat for a reason, right? And it's hard to fight that reason, even with a sleeve to help. But at least we have this tool to help us. I've cut my carbs waaaaay down this week and am focusing on protein. That's step one for me. After I get the carb cravings under control, I plan to start tracking calories. So, I guess my advice is, just start. Just start eating the way we know we're supposed to. Maybe we can't lose all the weight back, but maybe we can lose some. Maybe we can stop from gaining more. But we can't go on the way we've been and expect anything to get better. I know I'm coming from a different situation, but I still think "just start" holds up. Good luck to both of us. Congrats on your new little one!! Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. I'm about 3 yrs out. I can drink carbonated bevs without any pain but I end up making tons of involuntary gas sounds (I end up sounding like Chewbacca). Also, drinking fizzy drinks just ended up getting way out of hand for me -- major slippery slope. I recently cut them out again to try to regain control of my diet. Trying to get back on Track

I don't know about a food plan, per se, outside of the proscribed post-op diet, but I will say that I am trying really hard right now to stick to the rules around not drinking liquids just before/during/after meals. I'm also trying to get back to protein first - 2 bites lean protein to one bite veggies. It really makes hunger stay away. Good luck to you! Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery was the EASY part

Amen to that, friend. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. I'm almost 3 years out from surgery and I'm really struggling with regain. I hit my lowest weight about a year out from surgery and am now about 30 lbs up (if I had to guess-I'm not going to weigh). I'm up from an 8 to a 12/14. I have done the pouch reset and have gone back to basics on the rules. I don't want to weigh until my clothes feel a bit looser - I'm worried that weighing will discourage me. So for now I'm just eating right, following the rules, and keeping my fingers crossed. I just want to know if that will be enough. Has anyone here successfully conquered significant regain and, if so, how did you do it? (Also, for the newbies out there, or those worried about how to stop losing, I'm here to say that regain is real. It happens. You can't throw all your eating rules out the window and keep it off. Work the program!) Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I think a week out it took me maybe 45 mins?
  10. I'm about 18 months out. My period is much shorter and lighter. 2 days or so in duration, typically, only one of which is heavy.
  11. @@jenn1 Just taking my toddler trick or treating and going to a friend's party. The standard. But I'll look a lot better in this year's costume than in ones from years past! Also, 130 lbs? Dang, girl! That's fantastic! Congrats. We're the same height and were about the same start weight and I'm (happily) holding strong at 158. You must be doing a great job of working the program!
  12. Because I was sleeved on 10/31/14! Almost to my 1 year anniversary and SO HAPPY that I did this. Down exactly 100 lbs (and holding). From a 20/22 to an 8, from a 2XL to a M. I am faster, feel healthier, and definitely lighter. Life is good! Hip, hip... HOORAY!

    Stalls!

I know they can last several weeks. A lot of it depends on how far out you are from surgery. I've been in a "stall" for a few months, but I think this might just be my new permanent (hopefully) weight. But when I was losing actively, I think my longest stall was 3-4 weeks. But just follow the program and you'll be fine. If you're following your eating plan, the stall will pass. Only change your eating if you have gone off plan.
  14. I'm a pound away from goal and it took me 8 months. 93 lbs. But I have really hit a wall on the weight loss this month. I am at the point where I really need to work it, it's not just falling off anymore. After this goal, I'd like to lose another 15 or so.

    working out

I jog about 2 mi per day, 5 days x week. Worked my way up to this starting from a half mile. I also do not have a gym membership. I hate running in the cold, though, so my schedule is reduced in the winter.
