    Dating again....met someone new

I reconnected with a guy on online from my past (we went to HS together) and we hung out a few times, before our first real date but I gave him the heads up before our first meal together and he took it really well and he is very aware of my eating now and takes that into consideration whenever we eat together, by not picking bad restaurants and he'll make better choices as well. If he cooks for me, he picks better meats and will make my stuff pretty close to perfectly portioned. A girl I was seeing briefly, actually was really excited to find out I had VSG because it turned out she too had had wls, granted she had the band, and I the sleeve, but I digress, it went well both times I had told someone that I was dating about my choice. I don't think I'd want to be with someone who was really judgemental or rude about WLS anyway. I don't like feeling like I have to justify my life choices. So when you are comfortable definitely tell him and give him the chance to step up and show how great he is, or reveal his true colors. Anyone you get with would end up finding out anyway down the line.

    Birth control

I got the Mirena in October and didn't stop spotting until I had my first full blown and 2 week period, I am just recently stopping spotting daily. I was spotty every day for about 3 months, and now I haven't seen anything since the 17th. and my first period lasted from Jan 1st to the 14th, and I spotted from October 17th to January 1st. I also had some mood swings, but no other issues. I've leveled off and I am incredibly happy with my Mirena. I highly recommend it. I've never had kids before and they still approved it for me, it's all a matter of how open your cervix is. Another option is the skyla which is for 3 years and approved for those who've never had kids, so it's smaller.

    Affairs?

I don't think she was mocking you, I think she was quoting you and perhaps the app/website messed up. I don't think she was saying that you specifically needed therapy, but was using what you said as an indicator that she was responding to you. She was agreeing with you, is what I got out of it.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Well it has been almost a month since my last update. I just had my 6 month surgiversary on this past Saturday, and I am still almost 75 lbs down. I weighed in this morning at 200.4, I weighed 201.8 yesterday. So I am paying for some bad choices I made, lol. I have been drinking my calories a bit too much these days in the form of full fat coffee/tea drinks or as my guys kid calls them...dessert coffee, and alcohol. The holidays set me off track with the parties that I was going to (even though I still lost almost 10 lbs over the holidays), and even just this past weekend I drank a lot. But I do have to remind myself that I had this surgery so that I could live my life happier and healthier, not like a prisoner to my weight and diet. Less drinking my calories and back to more strictly adhering to my better choices. I'm definitely not the best example of what to do post op, but I'm okay with that, and I am human, with limited self-discipline. Learn from me. My goal for January is still to enter Onederland, and I will. I am 0.4 lbs from 199 and I have 5-6 days to get there (My ultimate life goal is to be in the 165-175 range, though I would like to see what I look and feel like at 150). I will do it. I also wanted to update my pictures, I feel like I lose track of my progress a lot, because the scale doesn't move as fast as I'd like it to and I still have to fix that image in my head that I have of myself as the super obese young woman. So many years wasted being fat and unhappy. So here is my first side by side in months and it really has helped lift my spirits and put my choices into line better. Also, is anyone else finding that they get crazy hungry quicker this far out? I feel hungry just about every other hour! Sometimes I'm ravenous and can eat what feels like a lot, and other times a couple bites and I'm good.
  7. 201 today,,,2 lbs away from ONEderland!!! That was my goal for January, to fall solidly into Onederland. I think i'll be achieving that. I am so happy. :)

    Aspirational shopping

All those FAB sites are like that. I wanted some super cute boots from Just Fab and it was the same situation so I didn't do it. It was like Columbia house records but for clothes. Sure you get your first taste at a low low price, but then you have to pay up the wazoo later to make up for it.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Haven't updated in awhile. I am 4 days over 5 months out. My loss has definitely slowed. I lost 5 lbs, but it took over 25 days to achieve that loss. I'm okay with that because I am officially 70 lbs down today!! 70 lbs in 5 months is incredible! I really thought my loss would have stopped by now, I didn't think I would lose more that 65 lbs, so the fact that I hit 70 is FANTASTIC!! That makes me 205, I am hoping to hit ONEderland by the end of January. Once that happens, I will probably drop straight dead right then. I can eat more in one sitting and I am still struggling to eat slowly, I think that is my biggest struggle, I hate sitting still and concentrating on food. I do make better food choices than I ever did before, and I had crumb cake last night, but I only had 2 bites before I was done and I was happy with that! When before I would have eaten that whole thing and then some with a large glass of milk. I still love that I can get into any outfit in my closet and think that I am gorgeous. I was never this confident and I am so happy with that.

    Exhusband!

I totally get it, he'll say it eventually. I live for compliments right now, and I kind of enjoy rubbing it in my ex-wife's face, how hot I look now, only 4.5 months out from surgery, and we are really good friends, but there will always be that little part that says, look what you lost.

    Maintaining Her down there

I just recently jumped on the brazilian band wagon, well kind of, I don't do bald, I hate the look, I leave a triangle and keep that trim. I love it! My waxer is amazing, being a plus size lady herself I instantly felt comfortable with her. She used the stripless wax, which was nice, and told me about a product you can buy on amazon that keeps you from getting ingrowns called PFB, it's a roll on thing and can be used anywhere. So far so good. I also get super red with face waxing, but not so with leg or brazilian.

    Aspirational shopping

I have an entirely new wardrobe, just over 4 months out, and I have about a third of my closet with clothes that still have the tags on them. I no longer hesitate to buy something cute if I like it, especially if it is on sale! I don't need new clothes, I have enough that I could go two to three weeks and not repeat an outfit. *went overboard for sure* One thing I do wear that I never would have before is skirts with leggings and boots. I look brilliant and I get complimented every time!

    Laser Hair Removal

I prefer it trimmed on top and waxed along the bikini line and then brazilian style everywhere else. I don't like the bald look, so I actually have a decent nicely shaped triangle down there, rather than the landing strip.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

@@emsgirl114, That is quite a journey, very exhausting and painful!! I'm so glad to hear that you have a surgeon who was willing to put in some leg work and get you approved! I love my sleeve and wish I had done this a lot sooner! Congrats on joining team Sleeve!! I love hearing when things go well with my VSG Peeps.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Down to 209 today. It feels like my weight loss has picked up a bit in the last month. No complaints here. I wear the HS jeans and they are a bit big in the legs but they look great on me. I have a fantastic wardrobe of clothes that all look amazing on me, some that I plan to shrink into over the next few months. I'm so close to onderland, and I don't know what to do with myself. I haven't been under 200 since probably junior high. So very excited. One major compliment that I got today was my old supervisor said that she went to a seminar at my Surg's office and that I inspired her. I was so beside myself, that was the sweetest thing I could have heard. I told her i'd be there for her if she has any questions, and she said that she planned to talk to me about it more along the way. I've never been told something like that. It was really nice to hear. NSV FTW!
  18. Just dropped from 275 to 210 today. Couldn't believe my scale this morning. I am so happy. I can't actually remember ever weighing this. Time to work on the belly fat!

    My ass is melting

I feel you, my bum was one of my favorite things about myself, even when I was at my heaviest, and now...booo. Gonna have to concentrate on those squats and lunges.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Another 10 days later, this is my 4 month surgiversary, and I am down to 214.6 which is about the weight I weighed in HS. I just got back from a week in TX visiting my sister and I lost 3.4 lbs while I was there. She gave me a bunch of clothes that she shrunk out of. My sister has always been the small one, so the fact that i'm wearing clothes that she wore is amazing to me. I'm in a 12/13, I can shop in the juniors section at Ross/Target/WM/everywhere and I haven't ever in my life done that. I can eat more now than I could a month ago, but not by a lot, and I continue to make the smarter food choice rather than the easy food choice. I'll upload a picture later to show my 3 month change. I pretty much am happy to be alive in a way that I don't remember ever being before. I can run for a short distance without feeling winded, I can carry myself and a suitcase upstairs without dying, in fact when we got to the airport, my sister was hauling my moms suitcase, which weighed 48 lbs and it hit me, while watching her lug that thing up 2 sets of stairs that I was carrying more than that on my body on a daily basis. I've never been so happy with me in my life. This was the best decision i've ever made.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Happy Friday, friends!!! This week has been a really good week for compliments for me. I think everyday someone different commented on how good I look, and this is from people I never really talk to. I'm down to 218 from 275, and seriously, I haven't been this small since Junior year of HS, 11 years ago. I have a bigger belly than I did then, but I am still in much smaller sizes than I have been in a long time. The guy I'm seeing actually went to HS with me and he was there when I was going through a box of old clothes that I pulled out of storage to donate the other night and I pulled out a pair of jeans that I LOVED and thought I had gotten rid of, and he said he remembers me in those pants (cuz I looked amazing!) and they almost fit me. If they weren't a velcro close I'm sure they would have actually fit me. I was so ecstatic. I'm NSVing all over the place and I love it. One side effect of the surgery is that your body is breaking down the fat which stores hormones and the other day I was in a dark mood for no reason. Nothing happened in my personal life or work life to cause me to be like that. I was just moody. I think it was a combination of the weight loss, my new birth control, and I was supposed to start my period around that time, but Mirena (my IUD) said no, but my guy came over and spent time with me, and perked me up. It was amazing. So just a warning, you will get moody with no apparent cause, I was warned about this before and I didn't believe it, now I know better, lol.

    NSV shout outs

Found my favorite pair of sexy, tight, big flare jeans that I loved in high school, in my storage unit and they almost fit!! Found a bunch of other clothes from when I was thinner and they fit very nicely. I love new old clothes!

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Today I weighed in at 221.2, I about fell off the scale. I'm so happy with my weight loss progress. It has been consistent, I am making good food choices, I've trained all my loved ones to how I eat, and I live to shop. I have gone shopping everyday since Sunday. I went to Goodwill last night for some jeans and I got 5 pairs of cute jeans in various sizes for less than $20. I love a good deal. So get this, the jean industry is evil. I got a pair of jeans in a 12, fit snug, have another pair of jeans in a 15/16 and can barely get them up my hips...Can we please get some consistancy?! Geeeeeeeeeeez. So I have come down from a snug 18 to a 14 (on average) and I am loving it. From a 3x/2x to a L/XL depending on the brand. I have started wearing skirts with leggings and boots, which is a look I always wanted to achieve and never could. I love the place I am in my life right now, and other people can really see how much more confident and happy I am. Here's a picture of one of my new favorite outfits, and a dress I got and will wear in about 10 lbs down.
