I am 6 days out pain is much better no pain meds today. Was pretty gassy but it is also better. I had my first 2 ounces of Protein Shake last night. & 4 oz this morning. Any of you guys getting hot flashes then chilly? My temp is normal but I feel hot. Is my body trying to regulate?

They almost cancelled my RNY yesterday after a 2 hour delay. The surgery before me had become very complicated. The NP said the surgeon was exhausted & he had already cancelled the surgery behind me. I was so stressed I thought this must be a sign to not do the surgery. But then my Dr. & his assistant came to see me. I asked my surgeon if he was ok had he eaten was he tired. He was very honest. He said I am going to eat now & I know my limits. I am ready to do your surgery. About 30 minutes later I was given some versed & taken to the OR. All the OR crew reassured me everything was going to be ok. Last thing I told the crew was pray to Jesus for no complications & my Dr.s assistant gave me a hug. I am now 10 hours post I have walked twice by my choice. The pain is tolerable feels like I have done 200 to many sit ups. My PCA pump is keeping the pain under control with a pain ball. No nausea, dizziness, gas pain or head ache at all. I can not believe how good I feel. I want to share my comments because all your comments & support has helped me so much. Maybe I can help the next person in line wating for surgery someone too. Thank you all!

Had surgery yesterday. I was so scared to. Everything has gone well so far. If I can help you let me know.

They took my pump away. Now going try some oral pain meds. Im sore but pain is tolerable Been walking well. So scared to put to much in my pouch & get sick. Still no nausea or gas pain Yes me too. No one wants a tired surgeon.

October 1st. Whoa! Thats 48 hours away. Excited, scared & restless.

Thank you I was fine but then I read some outdated forums. Not good. Then I had my husband read them. Really not good. I start my clears liquid diet tomorrow.

I have been heavy my whole life. I have read stories of being skinny then gaining weight after high school. I don't know skinny I hope I like it. I am two days away from changing my life. I truly believe the benefits (meaning cormobidities) out weigh the risk of the surgery. I am terrified of complications & regret.

Letting my feelings get the best of me. I need to stop & quit worrying about the people in this small town. I will talk when Im ready. For now im following the forum. Thank you all for the advice.

Just finished my 3rd preop visit & I am a nervous wreck. Saw a nurse practioner this time & had to discuss my deepest feelings about my weight. Hated it! She kept talking about her past & weight issues. Other patient experiences. I just wanted to be done with this visit. Maybe Im to sensitive on this subject...

I am looking at September possibly I have 4 more pcp visits. I was so excited until my insurance had the 6 month diet stipulation. Kinda feel like its just dragging out. I too want to see what a year brings me.
