  4. @@SnowFlake01106 Congratulations on your pre surgery weight loss. Your doing great. I hope all is going well for you in the process of getting a surgery date. Keep up the good work!
  5. So sorry to hear that low blood sugar is a complication with some that have this surgery. I'm a diabetic type one. Before surgery my blood sugar would go low with my diet. I feared I would always have to monitor and stabilize low blood sugar with my sleeve. After surgery my blood sugars are well controlled.
  6. It's here....Onderland! Celebrating my little victory. and learning a lot on my journey. . Funny how some people in your life cannot be happy for your accomplishments. I have learned to cut these people out of my life but secretly I use them as motivation by placing a picture of them on my treadmill. Knowing how much my weight loss has made them uncomfortable makes me want to hit my goal even more....Is this wrong?
  7. @@Myonlybattle I went out to dinner shortly after I was released to eat solid type foods. It was a few weeks out from surgery. I save us money since I eat so little. Its all still very social. I'm around a lot of drinkers we still have a great time. Everyone looks at my changes like this...I'm on a heath kick and its working...nothing more than that..I'm not the topic of conversation. Mostly they are supportive.
  8. @@Myonlybattle I will be honest...for me Its a little strange eating with people. By the time they have put in a full plate of food. I am trying to finnish up my small amount. I balance it out by getting into the conversation at the table. no one really notices. They just think I'm a light eater. Sipping water no one has noticed either...Its hot out and they just see it as hydrating myself. It's a great change.
  9. @@Myonlybattle my choice is ..no drinking for me. I just don't miss The positive of feeling this good naturally. I have way more fun and live in the moment. Who knew this would be me.
  10. @@Myonlybattle Hi there, I was sleeved June 2nd. I have just changed my life style. The people around me who don't know I had WLS, Just think I'm dieting and exercising. They see a happier, more social and physical side of me. I don't let things stop me from being out and about. I plan for them and look forward to them. I'm almost 2 months out and I'm up for almost anything. I enjoy the challenge of seeing people treat me different or when they notice my weight loss. Its funny to hear the responses I get.
  11. I have a few on my pinterest board. http://www.pinterest.com/jdlk0664/gastric-sleeve/
  12. @@Nicey2u I understand what you mean. I had years of bad habits with food. I changed that into obsessing over entering my food into fitness pal. I now total up everything. What a difference.
  13. Over half way to your goal! you're doing fantastic.
  14. I was told a month out. I have been getting in my low temp hot tub after my work out. Its freaking hot out. It feels great!
  15. @@deelyb, I also tend to eat the same things. Have you tried the recipe board? It has some good Ideas. It has helped me try some new foods. http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/1052-recipe-sharing/
  16. I'm a type one diabetic. My Dr sugested the sleeve WLS. Best thing ever. After the sleeve I'm down to one type of insulin and take far less units of insulin when I need it. I'm in control of my blood sugars. I eat alot of protien, low carbs and exercise. I wish you and you wife the best! welcome to your journey
  17. @@Unhappysleever I use fitness Pal. I enter all my food and have my goal set to 25% fat, 25%, carbohydrates, 50% Protein. My calorie intake 700. I don't weigh or worry to much about calories. Now that I'm getting the hang of the app and my protein intake, I'm dropping weight at a better pace.
  18. I'm so excited for you. What a goal maker to hit the 100's. What do you plan to do to reward yourself ?
  19. Hi there, I was sleeved June 2nd. My weight loss is slow but steady. I'm using fitness pal and realized I needed to up my Protein. Hope it will help me out in my second month. (come on onderland) HW 254 SW 234 CW 215
  20. I have my fitness pall set to: carbohydrates 20 protein 60 fats 20. My calorie intake is set to 700. I'm getting in about 500 to 600 calories a day. I hope I'm on the right track. I see the nutritionist in august.
  21. I can't even imagine hitting that goal. Right on!
  22. Summer Peach Habanero Shrimp salad Medium sized shrimp cooked and peeled Chopped peaches add habanero sauce to preference Chopped red and green bell pepper Chopped red onion Cubed Avocado Fresh cilantro diced
  23. I think this might be my first NSV---->Had a block party with all my neighbors. food all around and I brought a shrimp salad (yum) I had about a fourth of a cup and had my Water bottle with me. One of my neighbors told me don't be shy. GET IN AND EAT..I had to laugh, I've never had people try to force food on me before. They were eating burgers, hot dogs ,deserts and alcohol. I was not even tempted to go there. Throughout the night I got positive comments. What a journey!
  24. Welcome to the wls Journey, For me its all a trade off. I can live without Water for 30 mins before a meal. I'm sipping water all day. I don't feel deprived. I'm sorry your feeling "buyers remorse" right now. I hope down the road is a new day and you can see what a positive choice you have made. I'd take 30 mins without water compared to being overweight and feeling miserable any day. Here's to a new you! Jenn
  25. Worked in a correction facility for 15years as well, I went to work with a cast on my leg. The staff were great. The made a few changes for me...Don't be afraid to ask if you need more time or if you need something worked out to fit your needs. Best of luck to you
