  1. Congrats! I’ll be doing the same on November 30th!
  2. Hey guys! I kicked ass with knocking out most of my pre op appointments and I am in the home stretch! My surgeons office was willing to give me a surgery date because my final pre op appointment was scheduled and I have really great insurance so we aren’t anticipating any issues with that. So I will be going in November 30th! The Monday after Thanksgiving! I’d love to hear from people who have went the bypass route after having a sleeve. I hear stories about it being more difficult to drop the weight the second time around so I would love to know about positive outcomes! I also would love to hear from sleevers getting the bypass around the same timeframe as me! Thanks, Cara

    Labor day Challenge

Starting weight - 277.3 Goal weight by Labor Day - 260
  4. Being heavier, I've always worn a spandex tank top under whatever it is that I'm wearing for the day. I found this to also help me feel supported after the surgery. I think the only thing you want to be aware of is making sure it doesn't agitate your stitches. I started wearing mine 1 week post op!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

Teemarie, I'm with you. I was 306 on surgery day and I've been weighing in at 282.9 for the past several days! I try to look at the fact that I was 324 before beginning the pre-op diet to make myself feel better, but 23 pounds in 4 weeks doesn't feel like enough!
  6. I was sleeved on 5/20 with a starting weight of 306 before surgery and I am now down to 294.5. My surgeon knows that I'm not happy with the results but I was also wearing my heavy work clogs and just started my period. I'm really trying not to stress it but I am very frustrated with the seemingly minimal weight loss compared to what I read from others on here!

I have the isopure ones. There are three of them sitting in my fridge just waiting to be gagged up. Haha they taste like corn syrup!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

Hey guys I need some help. My body is starting to reject the protein shakes. I just gagged after drinking one. I go Thursday morning for my post op to hopefully switch to puréed food but I'm really at a loss as to what I should do for protein until then. I've tried various shakes both mixed at home and premade, as well as isopure shakes.

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

My first week weight loss was only 5 pounds. I'm a little but disappointed! I'm not sure if this is due to the discrepancy in the scale at the hospital and here at home. Anyone else feeling discouraged?

Anyone know how long we can anticipate these gas pains? I would think that most of the air they pump you with for the procedure would be out by now...

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

Has anyone gotten any approval to wear something supportive around their tummy? Like even a spanx tank top or something to wrap the stomach? Just for a little extra support?

I'm going today to get all of my liquids, protein shakes and the last of the vitamins I need for post op. Trying to stay busy!!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

I thought I would never get through this week! Tuesday is just around the corner and I will be so busy at work Monday preparing for my absence that I know the time will fly by. I've been reading a lot on these boards but haven't posted much other than to say that I am in the May 20th group for sleevers. I wanted to share something that I am struggling with and that is the two of my closest friends are significantly overweight. I feel like they are the ones that have supported me the least! When I told them both that I was getting the surgery, it seemed as though they tried to be supportive but both really had negative things to say. One expressed feeling as though the surgery is done for vanity reasons and another told me, "I haven't really seen you try anything else" and went on to tell me how incredibly difficult it will be and how she feels I am just looking for a quick fix. I felt like saying wait a minute - I'm the one who has been going to all of the appointments and tests and doing the footwork to learn about the procedure and the pre op diet ect. If there is one thing that I know, it is that i realize it won't be easy. at the end of the day though, I am just trying to be healthy. I think one of the more difficult things for me with this will be that it seems as though my new healthier lifestyle will change my relationships with some of the people that I have been friends with. I feel completely judged by some of the people that I considered myself the closest too. Please help!!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

Does anyone feel as though this day will never get here? Or that the process was so long that it seems almost too good to be true that it is this close?
