  1. I am also a teacher, I had lap rny gastric bypass on Monday, 4/14/14, and was back to work on Monday, 4/21/14. I even chaperoned my own sons PreK field trip to the zoo on Friday, after surgery Monday. You will be tired, but you can push through. I only took like 2 doses of pain meds once leaving the hospital.
  2. I'm three weeks post op (April 2014), and doing well. HW 320, SW 310, CW >290. I feel good, no soreness. Eating is going fine. Getting my protein in well using shakes (ie I got 72 grams yesterday). I feel very normal, other than not having as much energy. I actually feel more energetic & peppy at some parts of the day. But I've been going to bed shortly after putting my son to sleep lately, and I used to be a night owl. I also am having trouble keeping my energy up around early to mid afternoon. It's like I'm just wiped out. Not sure if this is leftover lethargy from surgery, or the new lack of calories my body gets (averaging 600 a day)? Anyone else feeling tired?

I'm 3 wks out (4/14/14). I have no soreness or numbness anymore. I've felt good since ab day 4, and great since day 7 as far as pain and soreness goes.
  5. Hey, I'm 3 wks out (surgery on the 14th of April). I'm doing great. Feel wonderful, down over 30 lbs so far. Quick question: does your stomach make all kinds of noises & gurgles? It's so loud sometimes. But I don't feel sick or bothered by it. Just curious. Also, is it my new stomach pouch making the noises, or my old stomach?
  6. I am 18 days post op. Surgery was on Monday, April 14. I lost 10 during two week liquid diet. Had surgery, was in hospital two days. Went home, rested some for a couple days. Was back to work the following Monday. I have done great. I feel fabulous. The time in the hospital was restful and I walked a lot. I was very independent and never let anyone help me do anything. I moved myself from the surgical gurney to my hospital bed when they took me to a room from recovery. I truly believe this will to do it myself and to get moving has had everything to do with my fast recovery. My stamina is not fully up to par yet...but I am doing super. I have lost 21 lbs since surgery (per my 16 day follow up with my surgeon). I have not yet thrown up, but have become nauseous several times. It happens if I haven't measured my food carefully. Just one bite too many can make me feel sick for the next 20 minutes following it. I am so pleased with my decision and my results so far. I never thought I COULD lose 31 lbs!! So excited for the new life ahead, healthier and happier.
