Someone asked me today actually and I said "oh you know, it's not rocket science, less calories in than out!". She said "ya, I know". That was it.

I can respect that some people are perfectly ok with everyone knowing. I'm not. If I had a hysterectomy I wouldn't be shouting it from the rooftop either. Anyone you tell should also keep it confidential unless you are ok with them telling people. Even at that, its not their business. I have told my family and a few close friends and that's it.

The dark green BM is sometimes caused by drinking or eating things with red or blue food dye!! (Think artificially flavored grape things)
As for the weight gain... You've done it before, you can do it again!! Start with the 5 day reset and do whatcha gotta do!!! Good luck!!!

Hi, I'm from Ontario (Kingston) but I am going the private route. My bmi is not high enough for OHIP to cover it. My surgery is June 30. Took me about 3 months from the time I started talking to the company to my date of surgery.

@FishingNurse. Yeah, congrats. It looks good on you. You look healthy and happy. I've been at the exact same weight for 3 1/2 weeks. Don't know what the heck is wrong. I heard about stalls, but for this long is so demoralizing. I don't even want to eat anymore. Can you tell me about some of your stalls, if you had any and if you remember them? Thanks.

**By not eating processed food/carbs my diet is not healthy and I can't sustain a weight loss**
Oh ok, so when people used to farm and eat off the land that was a bad thing? So eating processed food/carbs is a good thing? This was coming from a personal trainer.
**Just lose the weight on your own**
Oh, ok, thanks for that advice, I couldn't figure that one out!
I know so many people who just don't eat at all and then criticize heavy people. I'd rather be overweight than anorexic.

My facilitator has said the same - she said its a 1-2 year process. I had my surgery on June 30. I was 209 and at 5'3" my BMI was relatively low compared to a lot of people so for me, I would have expected that I would lose weight much slower. At just 7 weeks post op I am down 46.6 lbs. I have 33 lbs to go to reach my goal weight. I've lost 58% of my weight so far. I have started to lose slower but its coming off and I'm happy. My goal date is December 17. That is 4 months away with 38 lbs to go. I'm hopeful! )

OK --- it gets better....much sooner than you think. First of all, the "bad pain in your chest" is GAS. You HAVE HAVE HAVE to walk it off --- it's the only thing that really helps. Try Gas X strips -- but honestly, they did nothing for me, the walking helped TREMENDOUSLY!!! Walk every two hours --at least! Walk during the night also. take small sips of Water constantly and think Protein first. By day 7 -- IF you follow my lead and walk walk walk, I guarantee you'll feel super great!!
WALK WALK WALK WALK WALK WALK WALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck, let us know how you're doing.

    I agree somewhat.
I think its great that some people are making such great strides in their lifestyle by adding exercise and eating right. Kudos to you - not everyone is the same which is what makes this world wonderful.
I think that if someone is on here whining and crying because they aren't losing weight but they are scarfing down Cookies and ice cream then figure it out!!! Don't be a victim.

Well, you said you slacked off so that's one thing you can do - be really consistent with weighing and measuring. I started at 209. I lost 24 lbs on my 1 month pre op. Then after surgery, I lost another 17 lbs the next month. I've slowed down now that I'm on solid foods but I weigh everything on my scale. You can do it!

Sorry for the crosspost in the success stories board also, but I wanted to post this here to encourage anyone just starting this journey. It's totally do-able, and if I can do it, believe me when I say, anyone can do it!!!
So yesterday I reached my goal weight, losing 134 pounds in 10.5 months. I made a flipogram with all of my monthly progress pics to illustrate my journey to this point. It was pretty awesome to see and actually made both my husband and myself cry. It's been a LOT of work and I've grown tremendously in strength both inside and out on this journey.

Ok, so I can't figure out how to embed it, so here is the link to the flipogram!

Absolutely not! And believe me...Im almost 50 and once weighed 385...I have much skin! But nothing control top panty hose and a good bra can't handle! I went to give blood yesterday and my blood pressure was 119/72 with no meds! I had been on blood pressure meds since I was 18 years old! I went to the beach this year with my family..I wore a one piece and swim shorts and had a ball!! Spent most of my time in the ocean with my kids on a raft...I haven't been able to do that in years!! I wear a size 18 now...almost a 16 and I am thrilled about it! I once wore a 36 pant! And I feel great!! So I say again...absolutely not!
I took and still take Biotin for the hair issue...I have a head full again! Also, I take 3 stool softeners a day...you can get them at Sam's for under $10 I believe...problem solved. I wish you the best and pray that you become comfortable with the new you!

Never going back to being fat! Love this vitality. Up at 4:30 thinking how long until I meet up with today's walking partner. Fitting into regular clothes -- medium right off the rack. Not out of pain (arthritis) but so friggin happy. Funny, even when I was heavy I was more self conscious in clothing then out of it. It's being out in the world and feeling judged that kept me down, not being naked at home with a spouse who loves me young, old, heavy, slim. I'm 52 and every one is saying how much younger I look. Snow white hair since 30. I think that perception about youth is about how happy and confident I am and choosing sassy clothes, holding my head up, laughing my crazy loud laugh and not hiding. So, after this great thread I am going to reconsider my extreme fear of sleeveless tops and dresses. Maybe I should not give a damn. Maybe my arms are fine -- after all, when I was thin in my twenties I thought I was fat -- had no idea then what was coming. So maybe that's a lesson to enjoy the bodies we have while we have them. Age happens. Life happens. Let's enjoy our lives and our bodies.
