  1. So, not that I'm complaining, but I think it's weird that I can fit into size 10 pants and dresses and yet I weigh 193lbs... I don't get it. That seems strange, no?

Sizes have also changed if you are comparing to years ago, 10 is not the same as it was in the 90s for example.

I agree with woo woo. What is now a misses size 10 would have been labeled a 12 a few years ago.

  2. I weighed in at 199 this morning!!! Onederland!! 102 pounds gone!! Wooooo hooooo

  3. Oh yeah - I did my first 5K ever this weekend :D :D IT was an obstacle/mud run to benefit research on cancers that affect women. IT WAS AWESOME! It is something I never would have imagined 100 pounds ago.

Well, somebody s awesome ! Way to go !

  4. So I wasn't able to complete the full 8 week C25K program in time for my first 5K - I only started 6 weeks before the race. So, I'm going to start in week 4 this week and finish in time for my next 5K at the end of September. My weeks will be a mix of jogs/runs, personal training, strength training, Zumba, yoga and I might try pilates too! I'm hoping that by keeping my workouts varied, being diligent about my protein intake, better about my water intake and staying focused, not only will I get under 200 finally but I'll see significant progress through September. #igotthis

  5. My weekends, though awesome, keep throwing me off my weight loss A game. I'm getting a little frustrated with myself. Especially because the next 6 weeks are going to be crazy and each weekend is filled with craziness. I'm trying to hit 100 pounds lost and get under 200 pounds and I keep hovering around the same 2-3 pounds ARGH

  6. My personal trainer just came by to take measurements and percentages - in the last year, on top of losing 96 pounds (so far), I've lost over 25 inches around my whole body and I've dropped 8% in body fat just since May. What a great way to start the day!! Happy Thursday everyone!

  9. I averaged less than 12 minutes a mile this morning... Considering this time last year, I took 25 minutes to walk a mile, I'm pretty flipping happy... I jogged/walked 2.8 miles in 30 minutes. Yay me! 5K, I'm coming for you! ‪#‎bringonthemudrun‬ ‪#‎nowIneedtoworkonthesenoodlearms‬

Daaaaaang! That's my #1 fitness goal, <12 min mile. Congrats!

  10. So I decided I'm going to look into hiring a personal trainer. The cardio is awesome and I want to continue but this skin is becoming an issue and I really need to start incorporating weight/strength training. I used a site called Thumbtack to help put me in touch with personal trainers in my area who would be interested in working together. It's pretty awesome so far and I hope I find the right person!

Personal trainers are sooo expensive! Lol! Maybe just keep up the cardio and look into some additional types of exercise? Also - I think baths helped my skin a lot. Not necessarily by nourishing from the outside in, but by creating a buoyant experience that takes the stress of gravity off, allows for easy exfoliation etc. Maybe skip the PT and save that money (it will be A LOT) for the WLS plastics?

I highly recommend getting a trainer. I got a package deal for 8 weeks before surgery. I didn't do cardio because I couldn't lose weight or I wouldn't qualify. In 8 weeks I replaced 10 pounds of fat with 10 pounds of muscle and my body fat $ went down 4%. I needed someone to help me watch my form, teach me exercises to do based on my fitness level and just the accountability knowing I was going to see her again in a week. I just consider the money spent an investment in my health.

I love working with a trainer...it is the one time during the day that I don't have to think I just have to do. Be sure to interview any prospective folks...I've worked with two great people...but....hindsight tells me that the first trainer (who had a body building background) was not as attuned to my body as the second (an athlete/rehab background). Both made me sweat though :) You can also see how long you need the trainer, once you learn the techniques and circuits maybe you can go your own way or cut back on frequency. Good luck!

  11. Indian food and sorbet last night for my birthday. Feel crummy but I don't regret it. On to a new day, back to working my butt off!

  12. After two full, busy weekends - multiple parties, weddings, holidays - I'm still down on the scale and am super happy at that progress. But holy crap, I am wiped out!
