  1. I had lots of dates in college and I did get married too. The divorce was my choice and not weight related. I lost interest in men for a while and it seemed by the time I was interested again I was fat and no one was interested in me. I was 300lbs and invisible. Imagine. Now a lot of years have passed and I know I can do fine alone. I cannot WAIT to tell someone "if you didn't WANT the butter bean, you can't HAVE the string bean".
  2. What state are you in Dream girl? To you have a date yet?
  3. That is what worries me. I like water and I drink it fast. I also take all my pills at once with lots if water. I'm afraid of that.
  4. No I actually never thought about measurements. I planned to do pictures. I have my pre- op appointment on the 14th. I bet they will take some pics for me. I will keep ONE old outfit. I have 10 sizes of clothes still in my closet. How crazy is that.
  5. I am set for surgery in May and I wondered if chewing gum will help curb sweet craving? Also what do you do when you get real thirsty? You can't drink much water at once. That worries me
  6. Congrats Zelda. My day is May 19th. I have only told my mom and two other people. I know my mom is scared but she'll be there for me. What day are you planning?
  7. Wow. Your daughter is blessed. Luckily, so am I. I told my mom I was approved. She is a retired hospital dietition and I knew she would not be thrilled. Over the years she mentioned my weight and watching my food but in love, not guilt or meanness. She wanted to know if I was sure and if I knew what all it would take. I know she is worried but like always, I know she will be there. I love her so. I'm 40+ and we only have each other. I guess I'm blessed too.
  8. I just got approved and set a May 19th date. I'd love some local support. Anybody out there close to Nashville?
  9. I have had those back and forth thoughts since I got approved last week. Eating is entertaining and how I spend time with friends. I Also really like pastries
  10. I have been off the smokes for about a month and I'm scheduled for 3 weeks out. I did read it slows healing and I want to be well so I hope I don't slip while on liquids
  11. I'm happy for the May folks
  12. I have May 19th set. I'm excited about it but also a little scared
  13. It's really gonna hapoen
  14. I am really new here and just starting the surgery journey. Could use an experienced mentor and a friend at about the same point. I need to lose 100+ pounds but would be happy to have a healthy pain free body again. Have no in house support or accountability as I live by myself, not lonely, just alone and would like to share.
