  3. WOW...You look amazing!!! Thanks for sharing... And, giving me an idea of what I have to look forward to!
  4. A Lighter Me is AWESOME! Had mine done with Dr. Ortiz on 5/24/14. Had very little issues with language from the entire staff from Drivers to Nurses and Dr. Ortiz. They keep to their word from the Driver being at the airport to meet you, carting you off to the hotel (or, in my case to my pre-op testing), hospital for surgery and back. The hospital was super clean, smelling of bleach and pine every where. Nurses were very attentive the entire stay. Dr. Ortiz worked his magic and, I can honestly say, I had no pain and very little gas while there. And, post-op continuing to do exceptionally well. I did have a severe case of heartburn when I got back home and started creams, a daily ant-acid has done the trick. Scaring and pain has been nil to none! I'm actually down 25lbs and up to 2 miles walking on the treadmill already! I was even able to lounge around the pool and go on their sight-seeing and shopping spree while there after surgery. My husband even said it was like being on vacation for him. AND... I got to meet my Pre-Op Buddy, Nessa39 personally!!!
  5. WOW!!! You look amazing.
  6. I found ice and ice chips to be my saving grace the first week. They give off slow and steady intake of liquid. Good luck!
  7. I decided to take the quiet road. Basically, because I don't care for the ridicule. When asked about the weight loss, will just reply that I eat ALLOT less...
  8. Two weeks is a little early in this life long journey. Remember your body didn't get to the size it is in two weeks and, it certainly won't take two weeks to adjust to the surgery. Give your body time to heal. Consult with your physician on how you're feeling. Maybe they can adjust your Vitamins or prescribe you something to relieve the pain. Just know this... You are not alone in this. I'm a week post-op and for me the heartburn is THE worst! So, chin up and BIG hugs!
  9. Girl... You look FANTASTIC!!!
  10. Congrats! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
  11. Girl... You look AMAZING!!! Truly inspiring... Thank you for sharing!
  12. I will be comfortable being able to fit into 12-14's again.
  13. Wishing all early May Sleevers the best! Give us an update on your recoveries and progresses when you can...
  14. I still have a couple more weeks to go before my surgery. So, I've been stock piling various flavors of Isopure powders and Isopure Waters. I have been using the unflavored Protein powder in broths which the taste has been surprisingly hidden well. Their grape flavored Water chilled or frozen has been my favorite so far. And, their vanilla and chocolate flavored powders in water mixed with a sprinkle of Splenda frozen has been my savoir for curving my desire to chew. Anyone else care to share their favorite?
  15. For me I have been married to a wonderful man for over 25 years, raised 5 kids and as you all know ALWAYS looking out for and doing for the family. With me and the hubby being empty nesters, it gave me the reality check I needed. Have a closet stuffed with clothes from size 14 to 20 because of the dreaded excuse...I'm going to get back into those! Who am I kidding when the 20's are tight. Over the years I have tried several diets and WL plans. Lost 30, put on 40. Loose 50, put on 60... So on and so on! Putting on socks and shoes have been more and more problematic. I can't walk up the stairs in our house without my knees hurting and being out of breath. Even considered remodeling the master bath because the tub has gotten almost too small. Most recently after years of refusing to get on a scale... I did! And, O...M...G!!! That was it... The heaviest I have been EVER! Realized then the reason my hips ache, the need for a king over a queen sized bed, etc. Not to mention I love my husband too much to check out early because of weight and weight related issues. Called both our insurance carriers and neither one affords coverage over any of the WLS. So, taking the bathroom remodeling funds and a few extras from here and there and, scheduled for 5/24. I am planning to spend the next 25 years living! My husband, kids, future grand kids and ME are all worth every penny!
  16. If so called friends (and, I use the term loosely) distance themselves for you doing something to better YOU, then they were not true friends to begin with IMO. Besides that, you now have many new friends here that truly support you and your decision. Welcome!
  17. Hi Kelly and welcome, I've been feeling the exact same way but, for years. My niece had her sleeve done 3 years ago and I've gone back and forth on doing it since then. In that time frame I have also put on even more weight. I'm not unhappy or depressed so to speak, I just have had a love for food. After getting on the scale at nearly 300 lbs, I KNEW it was either food or me. And, I chose ME! Getting mine done on 5/24, leaving my doubts on the table with my stomach and looking to it as a whole new beginning. Best of luck to you and everyone else on your surgeries.
  18. Give NeriumFirm a try...Please don't shoot the messenger as I'm only offering a suggestion. I do have a friend that has had dramatic results from this stuff. And, after having done a small trail with their facial cream (Nerium AD), I'm planning on giving this cream a try when my time comes.
  19. Thanks for asking this... I'm going on one late August. ANY suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated.
  20. Scheduled mine for 5/24 after paying for expedited service on my passport. Supposed to be in my mail within two weeks... Fingers crossed!
  21. Heading down 5/23 for surgery on 5/24 with Dr. Oritz at Mi... Anyone else?!?!
