weight loss slow down
I posted this advise in another post... Hope this helps! The scale can be grueling to say the least as we all know. During those times when the scale is not moving, I suggest breaking out the tape measure. Trust me when I say those inches are melting away! I am a VERY slow looser and yet I went from a size 22 down to a size 10 in less than 11 months. By the way... Day of surgery 265, current day 180!

Clothing size
Started out in VERY tight 20 pants and 2X tops. Now easily slide into a size 10 jean and large top!

BMI rant
THANK YOU for posting this!!! I really needed to see it. Although my doctor says I am just about were I should be in my weight loss, looking at the OBESE tag and most recently OVER WEIGHT was depressing for me. Because of your post, I just updated my IDEAL BMI based on these standards.

Chia seeds
As a mid-morning snack, I drop a teaspoon in my Nutribullet. Makes for a thicker fruit smoothie shake. Goes down like a charm! And, tastes AWESOME...

Curious -- could you have done it without Weight Loss Surgery?
Yes, I could and have done it before my buddy (sleeve) many, MANY times in my life. Problem for me was keeping it off. Loose 25... Gain 40! Loose 50...Gain 70! The cycle kept repeating itself until my PCP told me I was not only morbidly obese but, borderline diabetic. MAJOR wake up call... Still struggling with what to consume at times but, my buddy keeps me on track! Glad to have her as a constant in my life! Thrilled to be just OVER weight and looking forward to being inducted in the NORMAL weight range!

How has your husband/wife/SO fared during your WLS journey?
My husband has been extremely supportive of my surgery decision. He has not only assisted in my recovery care but, has benefited greatly from it as well. While I have lost about 45lbs or so, he has lost 30lbs. He has changed his diet to pretty much mimic mine. Since my surgery, we share Nutribullet smoothies, eat lean, low fat meals, etc. I could not be more happy and, he's just as happy to be in clothes he has been in for YEARS!

Thinking of Gastric Sleeve in Mexico!
I went down and had mine done over the Memorial Day weekend with Dr. Otiz at A Lighter Me. I had a wonderful experience! Hospital was super clean, staff spoke English exceptionally well and, Marriott Hotel stay was like being on a small vacation. I had no severe pain, just slight soreness at the incision sites. And, I, too, walked to Walmart twice, went shopping and sight seeing after my surgery while there. Four hour flight back wasn't as discomforting as I imagined it would be except for the restriction socks. SO hated them! My at home recovery has been a breeze with weight dropping slow and steady with little to no exercise... I get in a walk here and there. But, I have to admit I'm lazy! So, 2-3lbs a week is welcomed with a smile since I couldn't manage it before my surgery! For me the decision to forego the in state insurance loops has been nothing but a blessing! Best of luck and well wishes to all up and coming surgeries!
