It might just be a matter of motivation. I remember when I was in the hospital getting my tonsils out (as an adult). I didn't want to drink anything. Throat hurt to swallow. As a result of not

I found ice and ice chips to be my saving grace the first week. They give off slow and steady intake of liquid. Good luck!

It will get better...have you spoken with your doctor? You may want to try room temp or warm/hot beverages like decaf tea... you might find them easier, and more soothing to get down... Good luck.

Hello all! I had my surgery Monday June 2nd. I am finding it really hard, and I mean REALLY hard getting in any liquids. I maybe have in 4 oz of liquids so far today. I am very worried about the effects of barely drinking. I took my liquid pain medication last night and almost threw up. I felt so sick that I decided not to take anymore. I'm in pain but it's somewhat tolerable. I walk as much as possible and I am doing my breathing exercises so none of that is really a problem. Only issue is the liquids. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
