sjfink got a reaction from Newme17 in Feedback: Breast Lift with or without implant? Do you regret the lift without the implant and why? Thanks!
Pre sleeve, I was a 42G. I'm still swollen from surgery, but based on measurements, it looks like I'm now a 32C/D.

I just had my lift without implants last week, and I'm really happy with the results. Here's my before & after pics.

I'd schedule a consultation with a surgeon… it'll really depend on your arm and your art!

Haven't done a challenge in a while! I'm having a breast & thigh lift during this challenge, so exercise is going to be minimal!

sjfink got a reaction from _Kate_ in 6 weeks post TT/LBL
Yesterday was 6 weeks post TT/LBL, which meant I no longer have to wear my compression garment. I didn't wear it to work (which turned into an 11 hour day), and within an hour I just started feeling weird… not bad, just weird. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but it kind of felt like my skin wanted to come apart at the seams! When I finally got home, I immediately (right after I checked to make sure that I hadn't actually split in half… incision looks fine!) put my compression garment back on & felt much better!
I'm totally ok wearing this for as long as I need to, but I'm wondering how long it was before other folks felt ok without.

I guess I didn't make it more clear on this thread. I eat very healthy, whole food diet. I track my calories through two fitness bands and eat 1500 to 2000 calories a day. I walk 13,000 to 15,000 steps a day with a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio. I have starved in the past and it has worked. With endocrine system issues I am still a large woman. My point of saying that it seems like getting WLS is that most posts I am ready say they eat under 1000 calories. I can do that without surgery. That is why I am seeking clarification and asking questions.

You look fantastic! Crazy that we still have to worry about complications 6 weeks out, but glad you're finally on the mend!!

sjfink got a reaction from imadethelist in "Must Haves" post LBL
Everyone's recovery is different. I had an LBL & TT w/muscle repair, and while I admit my experience is apparently atypical, with the exception of lots of extra pillows & Tylenol at night, and some very mild discomfort, I was pretty much back to "normal" in about 10 days. In fact, at day 11 post op, I worked a 13 hour day (which was the start of 120 hours in a 12 day stretch)! I'm 5 weeks out today, and am still amazed by how good I feel! Aside from numbness around the incision area (& the lack of hanging skin around my midsection), it's like nothing happened, and not a day goes by that I don't feel incredibly lucky! Just thought I'd share another recovery story!

sjfink got a reaction from TheRealMeIsHere! in Inverted T tummy tuck
If you're planning to lose more weight, I highly recommend putting off the Tummy Tuck until you're at, or at least close to your goal weight. If you do it now and then lose more later, your results won't be very good. I just had an invert T with lower body lift on Thursday, and I had been maintaining at goal for 6 months. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best!

If you're close to goal by surgery, you may want to talk to your surgeon about doing a full TT. I've heard that with insurance, often times you're able to get the additional TT portion of the surgery for less since insurance is already covering part of it (OR, anesthesia, etc). Just a thought.

I have 2 cats, and I'm definitely worried about keeping them from jumping on me! And I had planned to take 2 1/2-3 1/2 weeks off work completely, but I'm going to need to work from home while I'm recovering, so glad to hear you're feeling up to it already!

I won't have a pain pump, but I plan to stay on a schedule with my pain killers for at least the first 3-4 days, so hopefully that'll be enough for a fairly smooth recovery.

Tomorrow is my big day… can't wait!!

sjfink got a reaction from victorande in Weight loss timeline
I lost a lot of weight years ago on Atkins, so I already knew that eating low carb worked well for me. Since surgery, I've stayed focused on hitting my Protein & Water goals. These days, I typically get 100-120 protein and keep my carbs around 50ish (mainly from vegetables). I also told myself that there's nothing that I can't have, because that just sets me up for failure. But at almost 11 months post op, I still choose not to eat highly processed foods most of the time. I also started working out 6 days a week at about 4 months out, and lots of walking. The key for me was making small, sustainable changes and not looking at this as being on a diet. This is my life now, and every change I've made has been something that I'm comfortable doing forever. Follow the plan and find what works for you… you'll get there!
