my dietician said stalls usually last from 1-2 weeks and then it should pick up again. That's on the average bariatric patient. I just got out of mine, but did loose inches like you during mine!

I waited 2 weeks after surgery. Before surgery I was exercising a lot ( spinning, body pump, ECT), so it wasn't that difficult to get back into the swing of things. I am 6 weeks post-op and exercise quite a bit. A lot of times my calories end up being in the negative, so I am definitely more tired! I don't notice any fluctuation in appetite, except for around that time of the month

4 1/2 weeks post op... I have a question!
Marathongirl posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Like I said I'm 4 1/2 weeks post op. I lost 27 lbs the first month, but now my weight hasn't moved at all this past week. I am following the doctors orders, drinking my fluids and I do spin class 3 days a week. Anyone have any ideas of why I would stall out so quickly? It's a little frustrating Thanks! -
Anorexia?! REALLY!
Marathongirl replied to Baconville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have heard this from people in the past when I lost a lot of weight in college. I was a little too small for my frame, but people tend to use anorexia out of its true context. Its an anxiety disorder, and just because you may be a little too small for the frame of your body does not mean you are anorexic. You keep on doing what you want to do, as long as it is healthy, and just let people think what they want. You're happiness is all that matters! You have done terrific! -
Just curious... I had my surgery March 17, 2014, so I'm 5 weeks post op. I was just wondering, about how many calories everyone is taking in. I know that we are all at different stages, and our doctors each tell us something different. But, Im just really curious. I count mine every once in awhile, and I'm anywhere from 400-500. If you count, what are yours? Thanks

What's Your Exercise Program

I do spinning 3 days a week, and I just added weights (5 weeks post-op). I'm going to start running again. My problem is I'm always so tired -
Wallflower, you and I are on about the same path. I started at 320 and am now 262. My surgery was March 17, 2014. I stalled this week. It's been frustrating! Glad to see you are doing well!

Good Luck with everything! So sorry Martha! I hope everything ends up being okay.

Congratulations! That has to be one of the hardest things we have to do, avoid temptation. Stay strong!

Mine is, well, my major goal is to run a marathon. I love running and am so excited to get back to it!

Hi, I live in NoVa too. Had my surgery on March 17, 2014 at Fair Oaks hospital. Everything went great!

I'm 4 1/2 weeks out and I am also having lower backs pains. I thought it was because of my spin classes, but now I'm wondering. I'm not laying around much either. That can also cause lower back pain.

I'm going to have to give this a try. Miralax isn't working at all, and it's been more than a week for me. I'm getting a bit worried.

4 1/2 weeks post op... I have a question!

I'm not allowed protein shakes, so I know that isn't an issue. But, thank you all for responding. I will just be patient and keep following the plan. -
Anyone struggling with mental problems?
Marathongirl replied to Obeasta's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and general anxiety disorder 7 years ago. I gained so much weight from meds, that gastric bypass was my best option. Even though I found a great cocktail of meds now, I still had some issues with anxiety after surgery. I just continue with my meds and see my therapist once a week. She really helps me with my eating issues, and that I need to make sure to look at food as fuel. I use to constantly eat my emotions. It has really helped. Hang in there, and feel free to chat with me anytime about how you're feeling. -
