    My progress

Thank you. Anyone who thinks the sleeve makes losing weight easy is wrong. It still comes down to watching what you eat. Of course the sleeve keeps you from eating to excess but it doesn't prevent you from making bad choices. That I'm still learning.

    My progress

Surgery March 2014, weight 232 Today 182. 30 lbs to go.
  3. I too found the bariatric chewables on amazon. Calcium is lemon, raspberry or caramel. B12 is berry, like starburst. I even have chocolate vitamin d. Just be careful since each have 3 carbs.

    Why did you have surgery?

Happy birthday early cherry and good luck with your sugery. My reason for surgery was to avoid a long list of family health issues. I'm the 7th of 8 kids. In 95 my brother dropped dead of a massive heart attack at the age of 34. My mother had a stroke at 40, heart attack at 56 and passed away at 72 from her 3rd heart attack. My brothers have pacemakers or stents. My sisters are diabetics and take multiple meds for other problems. I'm 52 and have no medical issues but these are my genes. I decided now is the time before something happens. I was sleeved on 3/19. Down 30 lbs including what I lost with preop. Hit the 3 weeks stall and scale has not moved in 2 weeks. If it weren't for this forum, I'd be freaking out about not losing. Good luck to all and thank you.
  5. I know this may seem frivolous but I want my picture taken with Elvis. Every year I go to Graceland. You can have your picture taken with him, you have different poses to choose from. I've seen some of these and they look so real. Every time I go I say "I'm going to lose weight before I come back next time and I'm getting my picture with him". Maybe this year's Elvis week will be the time, that is if I can get past this stall. 3 weeks and no loss.
  6. I was told to drink 2 oz every 15 mins. It's hard but can be done. I start before my first meal and continue the routine 45 mins after my last bite for each meal.

Things I want for my life

Great post Getting small is at the top of my list. Then I could: Cross my legs, tie my shoes, sit in those small stadium seats at Braves game, find long lost bones like ribs, hips and clavicle but most of all I'd like to break the cycle of obesity in my family. I'm the one who had the surgery but some of my family have been following the program and have been successful in losing weight. They are finding that they like the low carb dishes that I'm making. We look forward to a "smaller" family reunion this December.
  8. Upon waking severe pain in shoulder, as mentioned that was from the CO2 pumped in. I had a morphine pump that took care of this pain. No catheter, no drainage tube, no bandages, just an IV. I had moderate size hiatal hernia that was repaired too. Was grabbing my IV pole and walking the 1st night. Had considerable amount of gas which walking relieved. Never had pain from incisions or abdomen but I did tire easily for the first 2 weeks. Just showering and washing my hair wore me out. I was sleeved 03/19 and have lost 20 lbs so the little discomfort I felt was worth it. I'm now on 900 calories a day with no more then 50 grams of carbs. Never did I imagine I'd have a hard time getting in 900 calories. Go into surgery knowing this is the best decision you can make for a healthier you and never let that thought fade. Good luck!!
  9. Special k protein mix for water. 5 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. 2 flavors, strawberry kiwi and pink lemonade. I empty a packet into a bottle of water using 4 packets a day. That gives me my water and 20 grams of protein.
  10. Try mixing tuna with weight watchers cream cheese and a dash of liquid smoke. I eat it in lettuce or in a boiled egg. I remove the yolk and put in the tuna or chicken salad. It's moist, goes down easy and loaded with protein.

    need help with protein.

531diva, try special k protein mix for water. It has 5 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. The strawberry/kiwi is my favorite but it also comes in pink lemonade. I use 4 packs a day in 16 oz bottles of water. I get my 64 oz and 20 grams of protein while getting in my liquids. They only have 30 calories and 1 carb per packet.
