  1. Anyone out there dealing with sleep Apnea with a CPAP. What issues did you encounter post op.

I have sleep apnea and use the machine. I had to try 3 different masks before finding the one that fit and worked best for me (and my skinny nose bridge!) It's all been worth it though because that little machine helps me get the BEST sleep!

Thanks. I know, I've been on the machine since 94 and can't sleep without it. I notice a need in pressure change when I lose or gain weight. Did you have the machine before your surgery? Did you have any issues after the surgery?

When I woke up from surgery, I kept dozing off and the nurse would tell me wake up breathe, hard breaths. She said everytime I feel into my deep sleep I stopped breathing she thought it was because I was very sensitive to medication until the other nurse asked if I had sleep apnea and then they realized why I stopped breathing. I am very sensitive to meds as well as it took me almost 2 hours to be completely up and she said the norm is 15 to 20 minutes. I should have taken my CPAP machine to the hospital but I didn't want to carry extra stuff.
