  1. I like November Nymphs as well! Good idea!
  2. Diva - Sorry to hear about your pain. Maybe you should call the doctor and see if they can give you something stonger. Have you tried the heating pad. It really helped with some of my discomfort.
  3. Kristin I am so happy that things went well and that you are feeling pretty good. I have been struggeling a little right now because I can't beat the hunger. It seems no matter what I am eating I am still hungry. I have my post op on Wednesday and I can't wait to see how much weight has come off. I know right now I all about healing but it will be nice to hear that the weight loss as well. Good Luck to you on your recovery!!!!
  4. I am so happy to hear that you are doing okay. I hope your cough gets better. Good luck on your recovery!
  5. I had to pay my doctor $300 for the initial consultation and then $1500 for the surgery because he is out of network. I am also responsible for 10% of hospital cost. I'm not sure what that will be.
  6. You are all very encouraging and full of kind words. I am so glad that this board is here. For dinner I had a cup of brocolli and a sf fudge bar later on. I know that a lot of it is mind controll but I also know that it will take a lot to controll my mind. Next time I think of food or start to feel hungry I am going to do what prior post said and think of my daughter. She is my life and I want to be there for every milestone.
  7. Thanks guys for you support. I have already started the mushie phase and even after eating that potato I was still hungry. I don't have my post op appointment until Wednesday so I guess I will find out when I get a fill then.
  8. I am 8 days post op and the hunger is killing me!!! I don't know what to do. I am able to start introducing potatoes today so I had a whole baked potato from Wendy's! After I ate it I cried because I can't believe I ate it! I know once I get my fill things will be differnt but these weeks with no restriction are going to kill me! I am still staying away from the bad foods but I don't know how long I am going to last!!! I am feeling like a faliure already. This is not good either because I like to eat when I am feeling down and right now I can. Please give me some ideas on what you did durning this time to keep you from not starving plus eating right.
  9. Last night I was able to eat some veggies and boy were they good! I had a cup and afterwards I was still hungry. I waited about an hour and had a sugar free fudge bar. I think my stomach is no longer swollen at all. I have no restriction and am hungry all day long. Today I get to have pototes and eggs. I guess for lunch I will have the potato and for dinner I will have the eggs.
  10. I had my surgery Thursday, November 1st and was back to work on Tuesday, the 6th. I also have a desk job and going back wasn't bad at all for me.
  11. I am thinking about you Kristin. I hope everything is going great!
  12. Sorry to hear that some of you are experiencing such horriable gas pain. I guess I am fortunate that my gas is pretty much gone. I have noticed that when I do eat or drink something I get a little trapped gas but nothing as bad as what some you you have described. I hope things get better for you all soon. My post op isn't until Wednesday but last night I was able to have some soft veggies. I had about a cup of steamed, very soft veggies with a little salt and pepper on them. They were so good and everything went down well. The swelling in my stomach must be gone because even after eating that I was still hungry. I waited about an hour and had a sugar free fudge bar. Needless to say I went to bed still hungry! I can't wait to get my fill! Today I am going to try a baked potato with a litte low fat cheese and see if that satisfies my hunger at all.
  13. Bobbie - Glad to hear everything is going well. Also, thanks for the remover idea. I have that stuff all over and everytime I try to wipe it off my skins gets really red and hurts. I am going to try the remover tonight.
  14. I can't believe that it's been a week. It has gone by so fast and everyday I feel better and better. This morning the tape on my top incision feel off. It looks fine, still need some healing of course but no drainage or blood or anything. Looks like the next to go will be the one on the left, not the port incision of course, the small one. Has this happened to any of you? I remember the nurse said it would take a week or two for them to fall off. I started one mushies today. I had a half pack of oatmeal this morning and for lunch I am going to have some brocolli and cheese Soup. Everything is going down well but I am still hungry. My stomach is growling right now. I can't wait to get my first fill!!!
  15. I had the help of insurance. I had my first consolation on 9/21, got insurance approval two weeks later and banded on the 1st of November. It all depends on your doctor and insurance. Some insurance compaines make you go through certin steps before they will cover it. Also, it depends on the availability of the docotor.
  16. I was banded on the 1st as well. I woke up a little sore. I took my pain medication Thursday and Friday and that was it. Saturday I felt great!! A little sore by the port and I was having some gas pain in my chest but that's about it. Tomorrow makes one week and besides being on liquids and the tape and bruises on my stomach I don't even feel like I had surgery. Good luck to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery as well!!!
  17. Tomorrow I will be one week post op. Today has been the first day that I have really been hungry! I want to eat soooooo freaking bad! I keep thinking about all those darn foods that I used to love. I just can't stop thinking about it! I've had some Jello, pudding and some tomato Soup but I still keep picturing a juicy burger and yummy pizza. How to I stop fantasising about food???? Also, is it okay to drink coffee?
  18. wnt2lose - Congrats to a sucessfull surgery. I hope you feel better soon.
  19. Edeva - Sorry to her you aren't feeling so well. I will be getting a vist from Aunt Flow soon as well. haha We have a lot of similarities. We are the same age, need to lose about the same weight and we were also banded on the same day! We will have to update each other on our progress.
  20. Kristin - I am happy to hear that everything is cleared for surgery Friday!! I am feeling really good! I went back to work yesterday and felt Great. I got a little tired towards the end of the day but other than that it was a breeze!
  21. Good luck tomorrow April ! Update us as soon as you feel up to it.
  22. Lizzie - I have been feeling that tightness for the past few days. I called the doctor and she said it was just muscles moving back and it should go away in a few days. I have been feeling much better and got a great nights sleep last night so I guess the nurse was right. I hope you are able to get a good nights sleep soon!
  23. My doctor also said to wait 4 weeks so after that I am joining Curves. There is one about 5 minutes from my work so I will be doing my work out at lunch. I am looking forward to it!!! Also, we have planned a vacation in October to take our daughter to Disney World. It is going to feel great feeling better about myself and being in better shape for our trip!!
  24. I've made a promise to myself that I will only weigh myself once a week. Well, I kind of broke that promise today. I did get on the scale just to see and to my surprise I lost 7 pounds!! I am going to make myself wait until my appointment on the 14th for my next weigh in. I am mostly concentrating on healing and getting down as much liquids as possbile.
