  1. Congrats Mi75!! Hope my stall is over soon!!
  2. 3weeks post op and I gained a pound!!! Was wondering if its bc my BM diminished when I went to pureed. Lost 11lbs the first week and 11lbs the second week. Must not be drinking enough water or eating through the surgery. So frustrating and disappointed in myself. Know I have ro exercise more.
  3. I can so relate. 3 weeks post op and gained a pound. Lost 11lbs 1st week, 11lbs 2nd week, and gained a pound 3rd week!! Very disappointed in myself because I strayed a little from the rules once I moved to pureed foods. Also had limited BMs and haven't exercised. Totally overwhelmed. Thought I would lose no matter what because I can barely eat. Not the case. Doing something wrong !!

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

Down 22lbs since my surgery on the 24th. Just got bumped to pureed foods. What are people eating at this stage besides yogurt, mash potatoes and applesauce?

    June sleevers, check-in!

Had a visit with my primary physician today and was ecstatic to learn that I loss 13 lbs since my surgery on June 24th. I weighed 360lbs the first week of June (before starting the liquid diet for preop) so I've lost a total of 27lbs!! My blood pressure was 113/79. I haven't seen a reading like that in over 5 years!!! And to think I was a little down today from being so bleeping hungry. I didn't have to be weighed by the "other" scale either. On cloud nine tonight!! Can't wait till I can go on puree after Tuesday's 2 week check up. Have a good night everyone!!!

    June 24th surgery!

I'm a june 24th sleever as well and I was very emotional today. I think my cycle is coming which is so weird bc I just had it a week before the surgery and I'm on birth control. Looks like the hormones are about to go out of whack!!!
  9. I was sleeved a week ago today. And I went so far as to have trust/will made for my son the week before!! It's difficult to share with others and their response is "you're having elective surgery with a four year old?! Who would look after him if something happened?!!" It gave me some piece of mine but in retrospect I was 300x more nervous than I should've been. You'll be fine. Best of luck and speedy recovery to you. Let us know how you're doing!!
  10. What type of compression are recommended post-surgery? Did anyone begin wearing it immediately (after surgery) or after the bandages fell off? Did it make sense to purchase at a size immediately following the surgery or did you purchase a few in varying sizes? Please share any links of wear you purchased good quality compression. Also, anyone see results in wearing them or is the excess skin inevitable? Any advice would be helpful.

    Change in tastes?

I'm only a week out so I haven't really tasted anything other than water, protein shake, decaf tea, jello and broth to know the difference. I DID notice the crystal light peach ice tea is incredibly SWEETER than before.
  12. Thank you all!! Slept MUCH BETTER last night!!

    My surgery was June 24th

@@Diosa617 I haven't seen my therapist for close to two weeks now, but I plan to see him next week. I'll share what i experience. I know I will now have to face problems head on instead of going to comfort food. Really didn't know how badly I snacked. Don't think I'm in denial and don't want to call myself lazy, but I never realized how much I didn't cook and how much I ordered out. Next week when I go to stage two I really plan to cook more for my child. And I'll have to work very hard at being ok to throw out food (bad conditioning from childhood). Good luck with your journey. We're all in this together.

    My surgery was June 24th

I had my surgery on june 24th. Still experiencing a lot of discomfort. Adhering to the liquids. Although my hardest challenge this first week out has been more mental. I have ALWAYS finished what my son couldn't finish eating. Don't think I've EVER thrown away food. He had an ice cream cone today and like usual when he was halfway done he passed it to me and I threw it in the garbage (not before first licking it). I was proud of myself for throwing it away but a little disappointed for taking the lick. One day at a time.
  15. I'm almost a week out of my surgery and I soooo appreciate the encouragement and wisdom the vets have shared. Thank you all so much!! I know b4 wls when I would blow up with a family member about my weight it was a smoke screen to hide I was doing something wrong. I KNOW this surgery is going to bring me to another level of humility. So grateful for the surgery and this forum to help me through this. Newbies, please don't go on the defense, they're speaking from experience.
