I know this has been asked a million times, but....
If you have no 3 or 6 month doctor supv visits you are lucky. I would guess between 30-45 days after insurance approval has been obtained. It really depends on how busy your surgeon is. Mine is in high demand and it was 2 full months after insurance approval.

Unbelievable change just in 1 month
Wow! You look fantastic! Great job!

July date
Hello, My surgery is also July 16th but my doctor does not require a liquid diet. The day before surgery is a light Breakfast and then Clear liquids the rest of the day. Good luck.

Protein bars
So where can I buy one or two Quest bars? Do any stores carry them? I do not want to order a box until I have tried them.

HOW LONG?
I got my surgery date the same day the doctor received the approval. Of course the date was 2 and 1/2 months later but that is because my doctor is in high demand. Some people on here got their date within the same month. Good luck!

Protein bars
I bought the Pure Protein bars at Costco. I do not really like them but I have never tried the Quest bars. I love the Atkins bars but I am not sure they really have enough protein in them.

vit d - the super vitamin
I was just told yesterday that I am super deficient in vitamin D. My number was only 13. I then read all of the issues you can have being deficient. Something to think about for sure.

Insurance help
I have had UHC for many years. My company chose to exclude WLS. They finally just added it a year and a half ago. I believe the company decides on what to exclude, no reason why UHC wouldn't allow a company to have it as long as they paid for it. Which that may have been the issue, extra expense. Best of luck!

Noob...
I am preop too and I love diet orange crush. I gave up regular Coke 8 months ago but find it hard to not drink the diet orange so I get it. Guess I just need to stop cold turkey like I did with Coke. Good luck to you.

4 weeks post op and have stalled.
Hello, You have lost an average of 8 pounds a week! Have you ever done that in your life?? Give yourself a break, that is a huge loss. You may stall for a week or two and then you may drop another 8 pounds. I think it is way too soon for you to be worried. Hang in there!

Congratulations!!

What did you tell your children?
My daughter is 7 and I have not told her yet. Her dad abandoned her a year and a half ago, then almost a year ago her grandfather (my dad) was murdered. She is super attached to me and I broke my toe a few months back and she was hysterical. I do not want to worry her in advance but I am not sure yet what I will tell her. Best of luck in whatever you decide.

Swimming after surgery
I have heard 6 weeks but some on here were able to swim in 4 weeks. Your incision should be healed completely before you swim.
-
Only 25 lbs lost in 6 weeks
Four pounds a week is not shabby! I would take it. Shoot I can gain 4 pounds in a minute but takes two weeks to get rid of most of it with exercise. Best of luck!

Heading into Maintenance
No tips since I have not had my surgery BUT you go girl! Great job and congratulations on hitting your goal!

I have been swimming this weekend! What a way to cool off.
It was 108 here today. We go to the pool at the park district, it only costs $2 for adults and $1 for kids. It is pretty nice. Of course I wear my big old t-shirt over my suit. We love swimming.

Stall over
Well it's a start. LOL, Are you kidding 144 pounds in 8 months. That is amazing. I have not had my surgery yet but I believe you should keep losing weight if you are following your program. It may come off slower going forward. How do you feel now that you have lost 144 pounds? I am so jealous. =)

Marathon Training/ Long-Distance Running and Low Carb Diets after Surgery
Look at you all!! Marathon runners! Truly an inspiration! Best of luck since I don't run anywhere but maybe one day.=)

Pre- Op diet withdrawal!
Forgive yourself and move forward. We didn't get to this weight by following a perfect eating plan. You didn't eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's. =) Just try your best to stick with it. Tuesday is right around the corner. You can do it!

Pre-op Diet - feeling horrible
Ok, this might sound super silly but brush your teeth a lot. I find it helps, I am on no carbs right now and when I feel like I am starving I brush my teeth. I then do not want to eat. I know that is of no help. =) Wish I had more advice. I did read on here a few days age where someone had to have 28 days of protein shakes pre-op. At least you can say thank God I don't have to do that. Best of luck to you. Hang in there!

I rode a roller coaster!
Congratulations. People have no idea the stress of riding a carnival ride or fitting in an airplane seat or a theater seat or a baseball game seat.
