  1. I would run, not walk, to look seriously into this surgery. I think it is a wonderful TOOL. I am still and wil always struggle with emotional eating but this process has given me hope and success. I had a BMI around 37. I think it is now 29.8. I am 5 feet tall, older, and a slow loser. I have no regrets.

You can reclaim your life and look forward to amazing years with future children.

I would suggest doing your research and medical appointments without involving your mom or anyone who may not get it. It is often a long enough process that you as the patient get the chance to decide if this way of life is for you.

I wish you great success and enjoyment of the whole process!

  2. I am 3.5 months out. Started out at about 180 and am down to 150 give or take a couple of pounds. Holidays showed me just how easy it is to return to poor eating, grazing habits. Wine, super diluted, has replaced beer, and Water has replaced diet pop. I walk a thin line of blowing this wonderful opportunity versus embracing it and the good it will bring me!

I still feel hopefull, but am angry with myself for succumbing so easily to bad eating habits.

  3. I am amazed at how thin my hair has become and am thankful for thick hair. I am wearing hats and headbands so I don't get hair in food etc. Saw my dr for three month check and he said it was due to lack of Protein, however, I am getting protein in. I think if it happens it happens. But, I did start 5000 mg of Biotin. I use hairspray to hold everything in but lose enough to plug up the shower. No bald spots but, totally different for me. Hair dries in moments.

  4. I tolerated toast early on in the game. 1/2 slice. As what others have said, there are so many other yummy things to eat, that are much healthier, so I just avoid it. I noticed that dry and crunchy is a slider food for me so I really should try to make peace with abstinence.

  5. You have lost 5 pounds more than I did at that time... Not that we should compare but, sometimes it feels good!! I went to dr today for my 3 month. I have lost 27 pounds since day of surgery. Not sure what I list pre op. I could not make eye contact with the scale!

Dr and nurse were pleased with the loss although I was concerned that I had ruined my stomach also...be kind to yourself. Don't give up. Eat your protein!
