  1. Thanks Miss Mac, as this is the kind of information I am looking for...personal experience type input. Fortunately, the pain is not stabbing, it is lower, and more crampy. I was not sure what gall bladder pain might be like and that concern is/was on my radar. A great/awful thing about this site is the great variation in our experiences. I sometimes feel like I am being overly protective, or quite lazy when I compare myself to others, but, know that is silly. Have a wonderful Tuesday and I will watch for signs of GB issues... Thanks for the reply!

    Puréed Foods

Auntiemel, my guess is I too will mush but through the blender bit in to psych myself up! Refried beans at midnight for me! Then, will truly purée some chicken or egg salad. I hope this is just a week for this phase. I need to be able to get used to the no drinking before and after eating and when all one has done is drink, I know this will be a challenge. I hope I remember how to hold a fork!!

Did anyone use an abdominal binder post op?

Sassy, thanks to your original post, and replies you received, I have been wearing my binder 24 hours again. Two weeks post and I must have done something wrong as have been hurting and back to pain meds. The binder really helps.
  4. Well, you were beautiful! Still are, as a matter of fact! Best wishes to you.

    Puréed Foods

My puréed days start Tuesday. I am going to make white chili. I figured a quick pulse or two with the mini blender should be good and I will add banana to a protein shake. You guys are giving me some good ideas tol

    Day 20...

I planned poorly today and did not have a shake or extra water handy. Returned home to finish up making dinner and simply had to eat some food... Two weeks post op tomorrow. So, I chewed and spit most out in the sink twice. However, I did eat some chicken, chewing it up real good. No damage other than berating myself for poor planning.

Did anyone use an abdominal binder post op?

I am two weeks post op... Don't wear mine much anymore but, it is nearby and I think I overdid it today and will put it back on

    Depression 2 Months Out

Brian, I looked also and could not find it... I did not make it up, I recall a silhouette of a person with his head in hands... Anyhow this is not the exact link but the date if publish makes me think there is a connection. I am glad you are going to see Dr. The article I saw was more related to post op depression setting in.. I will look again later! http://psychcentral.com/news/2014/09/27/bariatric-surgery-doesnt-lift-mood-for-everyone/75443.html

    Lack of Support

I think we, as sleeved peeps, have been so fortunate to have gone through this process. While some might say it is the easy way, I say it is my BEST way, and because of having it (2 weeks ago), it is going to be so much easier to embrace exercise, healthy eating, and getting back to living life. #AllHailTheYearOfAuntJanny
  10. That is sooo much weight to lose. How are you feeling?
  11. Did anyone see this post on BP Facebook page today regarding the online course? I am intrigued and signed up. It seems that it will be crazy helpful in many ways! http://www.strongcoffey.com/index.php/pleasure-principles-e-course/
  12. Eclectick, I believe that the majority of us fear failure for brief moments before survey! Why, the one thing we had been successful with, was our diet failures!!! I am 12 days post op. I have ready to drink and powders on hand, along with broths, cream soups and sf Popsicles. The salty broths are a nice reprieve from the sweet shakes and adding a little pepper adds more flavor and less " oh great, broth again" feelings. Swanson has flavored broths. I used tortilla flavor (fairly spicy for tummy) with cream of chicken and it was very good. The have hot and sour, Tuscany... Just nice changes. I also suggest syntrax nectar. I like fuzzy navel, and heard good things of Caribbean cooler. Mix up the night before so it is good and cold. 46 protein with two scoops. I add more water and ice and drink that throughout the morning or afternoon. Good luck
  13. Secrets, I hope you are doing better

    Puréed Foods

Jamie, that ricotta dish sounded great and all the recipes were promising! I am on full liquids for a full two weeks post op... I will be taking a day or two to plan my first gourmet purée!

    Anyone else

That seems very slow. Definitely need to call in the squad!! Double check what you are putting in to that tiny sleeve... Dense thick and wonderful may go down great but the calories will sabotage you! Good luck!
  17. I am amazed how different some of our post op directives are... Not in a bad way, just such a range. I was sleeved on 9/22 and am on full liquids two full weeks. Puréed starts next week and I can begin treadmill type exercise as opposed to leisure strolling. Puréed is another two weeks, then soft foods... I was encouraged to take 6 weeks off of work. Not sure how long I will be off, but I think 4 weeks for sure. I had post op with Dr yesterday and don't go back for 5 weeks.

    Life really changes

Your husband must be crazy proud of you! Happy Anniversary.
  19. I began driving one week post. I am doing all household chores, but vacuuming was hard. I will be stripping wallpaper tomorrow and have been able to do some closet cleaning etc. but, I have mornings where I cannot get up. But, most if my time online is now during wee hours of night. I think lots can be done, but lots of flexibility is to your benefit. Lifting is what I have to be careful about. I don't think and over lift. Don't make any plans your first three days home. Just baby yourself some.

    Does it work?

A tool. A wonderful tool. But, nothing to rush into and I believe the 6 month meets with the dietitian and getting active on these boards will, as I progress, be the main reason I am going to succeed, and turn my life around.
  21. Premier vanilla has been my "go to" after the syntrax nectar which I water down so it is like crystal light. Orange miso or orange jello with ice in a blender is a creamsicle. I like to add orange to chocolate muscle milk with skim milk and ice , also. It gets easier.
  22. I have syntrax. Have put it in cream soups and jello. I will use it mostly at next stage... Puréed and will try the othe popular option mention above next.

    More My Fitness Pal Friends

I am a bit stoned on protein shakes and liquids Vicodin/Tylenol. Is this a separate app or part of BP? Can someone just tell me? If I google, I know I will get caught up watching kitty videos and I am able to get on treadmill beginning Monday.
