  1. My tailbone hurt for a while but has eased up. It's a loss of padding. Now my hip bones hit if I don't sit right. Lol. I'll take it.

    Finally here

I'm now a week out. Have lost the surgery weight (15 lbs - really?? ) and then 2 lbs onto my new journey. Had alittle nausea during hospital stay. Now I'm working at getting myself on a schedule to get my protein and fluids up to where they should be. I have absolutely no hunger so I have to try to work a schedule to get my protein in. Started walking once I got home. First walk was very short and it exhausted me. This morning I walked almost a mile and was charged up when I finished! This is the start of my new life! Thanks for all the support!
  3. I had my sleeve done last Thursday (7/24) hopefully going home today. Mostly had water and some broth since then and NOT HUNGRY!! I like that don't feel like I'm missing anything. Been sipping some decaf tea this morning. At least once I get home, I'll have some other choices Hospital has broth, freeze pops and jello. None taste good to me, so looking forward to some unjury chicken broth or some protein powder in my own jello As my support group has been saying... Welcome to the losers side of the aisle! Good bye to all this extra weight HW 329.8 SW 284.6 Start of my new life!

    July Surgery

I'm scheduled for July 24. Still seems to far away. Started my trek in February. Started pre-op diet March 14 and as of July 4, I was down 42 lbs already. Can't wait to begin losing after the surgery and get to a healthier weight. So many things feel better already, I can walk up stairs without getting overly winded. I can sit on the floor and get up without problem. I can work in my yard without having to take breaks. I also have already had to buy some new pants, as my old ones wouldn't stay up! These little things are keeping me motivated through the waiting process. Good luck to all with their surgery!
  9. Thats fantastic! I started my pre-op diet on March 14. Scheduled for surgery 7/24. I understand how you are feeling. Just the feel the pounds falling away. I have lost 42 lbs already. Can't wait to start losing after the surgery. Keep up the good work!

    July surgery

I'm scheduled for July 24. Haven't hit the nervous stage yet. Very excited about moving forward with this. I think when I get a little closer to the date, I may start to feel anxious. Right now it seems far away.

    50's

I'm 57. Got my insurance approval a couple weeks ago. Scheduled for July 29 for Sleeve. Trying to keep momentum going. So looking forward to getting healthier.
  14. Always depends on many things. I finished all my required tests, classes, etc two weeks ago. I had to wait for a call from the scheduler to set up the surgery. My insurance requires 45 days from the time I finish all the requirements for surgery, bringing me into the end of June - which would have worked for me, but they didn't have any opening until the second week of July. I have a family reunion the 3rd week, so had to delay. Now I'm scheduled for July 29 - seems so far away!
  15. Just to clarify a little on the Atkins - you actually count net carbs - which is total carbs, less fiber carbs and sugar alcohol carbs. So your carbs from the fiber in the veggies would not be included in your daily total
