    Newly banded...question?

Great news! I did indeed start losing again. I STOPPED weighing daily or even weekly. I have decided weighing monthly is appropriate for me. I weighed on April 15, and am down 20 pounds total since surgery on March 7. Feeling better every day. Thanx for the supportive words????
  2. I am a nurse in the ER, and occasionally I have to eat fast, or I have to wait until I am STARVING to eat. When either of these occurrs, I take bigger bites and chew less and don't wait between bites. Not intentionally, it just happens as a result of rushing. I'm afraid I have or will stretch out my new stomach pouch. I wonder how much bad behavior your new stomach can take before it is stretched. Anyone got any info on that? I don't want to screw up...

  4. I started out at 250# on surgery day, March 7, 2014. The procedure went great with very little post-op pain. The next day, I started coughing up yucky green gunk, then the fever came. After a trip to the E.R, and a diagnosis of pneumonia, I was down for about 2 weeks. During the first 2 weeks post-op I lost 14#. After starting on solid food, the weight loss stopped. NOTHING. I was worried that I was doing something wrong. I was just looking forward to my first fill to get losing again. I know I need to walk more, and I am joining the gym to help with that. No excuses of bad weather, too late, too early, too cold, too hot. I was scheduled for my first fill today and was really nervous, not knowing what to expect. My provider was GREAT. She assured me that my weight loss was normal and that everything is going according to plan. The fill went great. I have a 10cc band and 5cc was placed during surgery. My provider added 0.5cc today and scheduled me for another appointment in 2 weeks. I hardly felt the needle at all. Now I need to get moving more, and stop getting so hungry that I take too big of bites, don't chew long enough and don't remember to wait between bites. We'll see how it goes... Me, the day after surgery????

    Newly banded...question?

Thanx for your replies. Just wanted to make sure this was normal. Appreciate your input!
  6. I was banded on march 7th and am going in for my first fill on April 7th. My question is this: is it normal for weight loss to stop when going from liquids to solids? I haven't lost an ounce since going to solids. I lost 14 lbs the first 2 weeks, but nothing since. Not sure if this is to be expected or not. Does this typically improve after a fill? Haven't really been working out much either. Just getting over pneumonia and regaining my strength/endurance. I'm sure exercise will help the situation. Thanx for any info/help.

    One more day before fill

I am scheduled for my first fill on Monday, April7. My surgery was March 7th. I have a question for anybody who would like to answer. My first 2 weeks I lost 14 pounds. I was excited, but felt hungry around the clock. I have not budged since then. My clothes seem to fit a bit differently, but the scale is not budging since I started on solid food. Am I doing something wrong? Is this normal? I don't want to stop at 14 pounds. Will it improve after my first fill?
