    New- Just had surgery

Congratulations! My biggest advice to someone newly banded would be listen to the band and your docs advice. I've been very successful with my band but it's jus a tool . I used my fitness pal and tracked every single calorie. I work out as much can. My entire life is different. For my recent bday I got running catches an iPod to run an exercise mat...all my friends know thus is the new me and my new way of life. You will be very happy with your decision to get banded if you slow it to help you.
  2. It has been 10 months since my lap band surgery and I am down 73 pounds! I feel incredible. I work out regularly, my feet and hips no longer ache at night. I would do it again without hesitation. Having lap band surgery was the best decision I have ever made. The attached pic shows where I started, where I was at 6 months and where I was last week.

    Surgery tomorrow! Terrified!

I had my surgery 4/3/14 and didn't have any pain at all. Came home the same day with no problems whatsoever. I did take the next day off work but that was more to recover from anesthesia than anything else. It's been the best decision of my life. I'm down 47 pounds and I feel wonderful. It's natural to be nervous but you'll do fine!

    Any April Banders?

My doctor didn't make me do a complete liquid diet before surgery. I did a shake for breakfast one for lunch and a frozen Adkins or weight watchers meal at night as my pre op diet. We didn't notice my breath during pre op but I agree there's a funny taste after the shakes and a lot if dry mouth.

    Any April Banders?

My husband says my breath is horrible since I was banded a week ago today. Anyone else have that problem?

    Any April Banders?

I was banded on Thursday April 3rd, 3 days post op and I'm feeling great! I lost 13 lbs. before surgery on the pre op diet. I'm not down anything post surgery but I'm still pretty swollen so hopefully once the swelling goes down I'll see weight loss. I'm so excited to start this journey!
