  1. All is well. I woke up around 7 pm and had no idea the surgery was done.

  3. Dr Quinones for me tomorrow. I'm so nervous I can barely speak, think, sleep...
  4. Congrats to you. Ok, we all know very well that diet works but how does it work better with the surgery? I'm getting sleeved on Monday and I honestly don't get the difference of before and after. Please do not take this as an attack, at all, but I would love a deeper explanation.
  5. My surgery is on Monday June 9. I am getting so nervous. My oldest son keeps asking me "why are you choosing to have surgery? Don't most people only have it done when they need to?.". I'm ready, though.
  6. It has nothing to do with feeling superior or anything like that. In fact, I don't like to stand out. It's the judgement from others I'm trying to avoid. Funny thing...you kinda sound judgmental a little bit... Not trying to start anything. But it's sort of funny because maybe this question in the forum is showing me that there's no where completely safe from judgment. Thanks for teaching me that! Yes!! Matter of fact...it sounds to me as if she actually is "feeling superior" because some of us "LIE" and she doesn't. Thank you everyone for posting different views of this and being non judgmental. I think we have all been judged enough.
  7. I was going to ask how tall you are! You look amazing. So young, also!
  8. This is a HUGE community of people but we are all here for the same reason, we should support one another. There is A LOT of shaming that goes on here. I see people post a thread for support and get attacked. ie- A post about someone wanting to eat sugar or over eat after surgery and wanting support and she just got attacked. "why would you do that?" "Didn't you get help for that?" "Go see a therapist." Also you have the people who think there's only one way to do things and that way is correct. In any event, there are so many people on this site and this kind of stuff happens. I am a cloth diaper mom and I had to leave so many sites because people just get nasty and mean. It is the internet...
  9. Well except with people here that have been there or are going through it. I have told very few people and it was only because I "had" to because they will be taking care of my son while I am doing the surgery. If I had a choice, I would have told my Mother and that's it.
  10. Ok, fair enough. I apologize for being upset but I don't feel like it is something that I need to tell the world. I am a very private person. I also see the way people look at, talk about, and judge other people who have had a weight loss surgery. And, I isn't something I want to have a conversation about.
  11. Really? Maybe because it isn't anyone else's business to know? It's a very private thing for me, personally.
  12. This. Especially the girls who are gossiping about you. My plan is to say I'm eating less... You know it's 80% food. So it's true. You don't owe anyone more of an explanation. As for the people wanting advice on losing, tell them to cut carbs, sugar, eat less. That's what you are doing, right?
  13. I am scheduled on June 9th and Bill is amazing. I'm getting nervous.
  14. How are you feeling now??? I'm hoping excellent!!!
  15. My surgery is June 9th. What do you wish you would have known, understood, or been told? Were you in pain? Were you tired for a week? Two weeks? Etc, etc
  16. I actually cry when I talk about it. I have been trying to discuss the surgery and how important it is to me, with my adult son and his finance. They just don't understand and she tells me every reason I shouldn't do it and that I'm not even that big...
  17. Just checking in to see how you are doing.
  18. I just requested you.
  19. I did look in the frequently asked questions and other topics to see if these questions have been discussed and I didn't see them.. I have questions on the protein intake and the sugar free eating items. First-I am very leery of protein powders because of GMO's, metals in protein powders, etc. What is the reasoning for using protein powder and not eating the proteins in foods instead? Second question is about the sugar free options...are they in the "plan" to eat sweet foods without the calories? I am just wondering if I can skip them completely.
  20. Yes, my Doctor reccomends 3-4, and my boss was fine with 4, so I am taking it! I don't feel too bad about it, because our company requires you to take one week of vacation before your sick leave will kick in. I have tons of sick leave because I've never taken any. Oh no, I wasn't implying you were taking too much, etc, etc...I was more so worried about myself only take the week off. :/
