1. Thank you so much. This really helps!
2. I go for my wls seminar in about a week. Looking for ideas as to what questions I should ask and any ideas. Thank you!
3. Ok so I am working on getting insurance through my job. Its bcbs and covers wls. That being said I now have to submit a letter from my husband's previous job showing from when we first got coverage until it ended. Roughly 8 months. Before that we had medical through the state for roughly 1 to 1 1/2 yrs. Once I get this letter then I can apply for insurance through work because it will be a change in life event making me eligible for their insurance. So has anyone had to deal with something like this and then go through the wls process. From what I am learning they cannot deny me coverage and I don't think they can make an exclusion for example wait a year. I know that both they and the doctor have set processes that I have to go through before applying etc. Just looking for some support and advice.
4. Ok so I know I really need to talk to my provider etc but I'm impatient. That being said I was wondering if talking about weightloss with my doctor and seeing a nutritionist once or twice through them would count towards efforts of weightloss if the doctor documented it. I am at a 54 BMI so don't need to worry about the co morbidity issues. Just trying to get ahead of the game. Thanks for any and all help.

Specific friend advice needed! Pic included

You said that you have known her for 20 yrs. When people get that close they can often tell when something has changed. If I had to guess I would say she knows you got the surgery. Maybe she chooses not to say anything because she is hurt that you didn't tell her about it. Just a thought.

New and Questions...

Hmmm I guess I didn't think about a pre existing clause. I hope not. I go in Monday to sign up for the insurance. I'm nervous because it is the main reason why I am getting insurance through work is the possibility of having the surgery. It is BCBS. I want to be healthy due to a family history if diabetes, high bp and I suffer from fertility issues (PCOS) which is causing me to really heavy in the front.

9. Hey everyone! My name is Desiree, I am 25 almost 26. Current weight is 280 at a short 4 ft 11 inches. I currently have no insurance but will be getting some through work and it covers weightloss surgery. I don't know the specifics yet. That being said I was wondering where I start in this process. Once I get the insurance do I just go find a surgeon or do I go to a regular doctor and get a referral. Do I contact the insurance company right away? Feeling a little lost but would like to get started asap. Thanks!
